@beard9982 @thinkdefence With our newly militarised traffic police, we will truly be able to declare war on cars!

@TransportActio2 I don't mind an additional runway, so long as A) It does not lead to more domestic flights B) It is not public money C) They improve public transport (I dream of HS4Air, but would settle for 'East-West Rail south') Honestly anyone who moved close to Gatwick should expect noise.

@wolfman_55 @Gabriel64869839 European NATO spends over $400 billion on defence, $25 billion of that is buying equipment from the US. This is 400% of what Russia is spending even now. Before the war, the UK alone regularly outspent Russia.

@Gabriel64869839 @MonkehPutler Does the US extend its Nuclear Umbrella? I doubt in practice Washington would launch an all out nuclear response if Kraków, Milan or Hamburg were nuked.

@thinkdefence Personally I think Sweden/Finland with some assets in Estonia would be the better location for a UK divisional command. Ideally been under a joint Nordic command and incorporating some local brigades to round out the structure

@KathrynPorter26 Problem is how do we stop a race to the bottom? Overall, 'green' both represents our response to anthropogenic climate change and our efforts to conserve environments & habits. These two responses are utterly at tension with one another. We must pick a priority.

@DefenceFreedom What sort of objective method do you suggest to measure alliance participation? I agree that defence GDP is a less than ideal one, but it is the best I can think of. Maybe if everyone paid into a joint pot?

@JMourinbro @Gabriel64869839 Doesn't America not even recognise Taiwan as a country? And has repeatedly refused to give any guarantee they would defend it? Seems hypocritical to expect others to jump in.

@brynJB1 @Gabriel64869839 An end to sanctions will certainly be one of Russia's demands. All Russia needs is 5-10 years and a fresh batch of 17-24 year olds will be ready to fight, if it needs more equipment then it can annex Belarus or Kazakhstan almost at will.

@Agent_Hodgo @thinkdefence We do outspend Russia, European NATO alone currently exceeds 400% of what Russia spends!

@ATTay38411784 @thinkdefence We were feasting off old Cold War assets. Doing this lead to a shutdown of effectively our entire military-industrial base. We are now having to rebuild from scratch. Furthermore, wages and military healthcare have gone up significantly.

@BearJFK @thinkdefence Leads to tough decisions, do we prioritise the health and safety of people today, or in a hypothetical future war? No good answers imo

@Nelsonsgoodarm @thinkdefence Early 90's Moscow was one bad move off a millitary coup, and had far, far more weapons than modern Russia

@JominiW I use a desktop, normally I try opening the image in a new tab & zooming in. It's slightly better if I keep it on twitter, but still eye strainingly small, with no way to zoom as doing that makes the UI bigger, not the image. Your analysis and map making is top notch by the way!

@Jim4Dartford @KemiBadenoch @BBCPolitics @Dartford_Labour Your statement fails to distinguish between legal immigration and illegal immigration. The former is vital for the UK to prosper, the latter is typically the backbone of human trafficking. I highly disagree with people wanting to limit legal immigration of high quality workers.

@AubergerMatthew @chuchaquix @DJSnM Ah, I think you are confused, there is no night in space and any mission would likely be robotic, they'll need power for the final approach.
