Bold and decisive action by the PM. The taskforce should now rapidly sharpen regulation to unleash both SMR and Gigawatt nuclear power - including recognising designs from countries such as France & South Korea where nuclear is built safely, quickly and cost effectively.
For too long, the blockers and Nimbys have strangled our chances of cheaper energy, growth and jobs, leaving us hostage to Putin. I'm putting an end to it. We are changing the rules on nuclear to deliver cleaner, more affordable energy across the UK.

As @darrenpjones said: from the backbenches to the frontbenches this party is committed to growing the economy so working people benefit. The Tories spent over a decade of ducking the hard decisions - we know this country deserves better than that.
I set up the Labour Growth Group to demonstrate that this is a party of builders, not blockers. This is a Government that will always put the interests of the working people first. If that means making tough choices the Tories ducked, bring it on.

Everyone listening today should be in no doubt that the Labour Growth Group will ensure the Chancellor has the backing she needs to deliver this ambitious vision. This movement on the Labour backbenches is determined to return prosperity to Britain.
Growth is our national mission, to get more money in people's pockets. We're going further and faster to get Britain building, unlocking critical national infrastructure projects and stopping the blockers who have stifled growth for too long.

It’s been unsustainable for blockers to so easily be able to halt progress in an endless mire of legal challenges. Previous governments knew this, but didn’t have the guts to fix it. This one’s different and we’re backing them tirelessly as they do that.
