Eight years, my darling, darling girl.
You should still be here, Planning uni or travelling, or a job, or anything at all. But here.
The reason I do anything ❤️
Yesterday Paul made me the happiest girl in the world by buying me a beautiful coffee machine for my birthday! Isn’t she glorious?!
Oh and he asked me to marry him too, which was nice.
But LOOK. She’s all SHINY.
@LozzaFox
Really enjoyed spending the last year trying to protect people, whilst loved ones suffered and in one case died.
Resist. Resist people like this who think they’re heroes when all they’re doing is jumping on a cheap, damaging bandwagon for the sake of their flagging career.
I’m not ashamed to say I’ve been brought to tears several times recently- by the state of our coast, by behaviour of visitors- but this morning by the messages from cross-party colleagues & residents offering their support & love. We press on ❤️
I wish MPs would say how they really feel.....
Laurence Fox’s behaviour is dangerous and an insult to all those working so desperately hard to keep people safe 💙
I hadn’t realised that being a first class, ocean going, chateau bottled, nuclear powered prick was an exemption from wearing a mask. What a selfish loathsome tool this man is
@JamesGilesRBK
Anyone commenting here who is worried about this - you have the option of the
@ICOnews
. I have already emailed
@RBKingston
data protection officers to ask how I was signed up to his campaign without my knowledge.
I’m so proud of m’boy. This year, A levels, travel, 18th, parties, uni, all off.
Today he started in the PPE stockroom for the BIC vaccination centre.
The Yoof Of Today can be pretty bloomin brilliant sometimes.
We’re repurposing a hotel in Weymouth as care home to enable more space in hospitals. Partnership working at its finest- I am so proud of
@DorsetCouncilUK
❤️❤️❤️
@CQCpressoffice
on board and helping & will be staffed by live-in carers
#dorsettogether
It’s really hard to thank our amazing comms staff, cos they put out all the comms! I’m in awe of our comms team
@DorsetCouncilUK
at the moment, but bet they won’t RT this as they’re too modest! ❤️❤️❤️ you’re doing a brilliant job folks
#commsheroes
The road outside busy already with cyclists shouting to each other & cars streaming up to
#DurdleDoor
. It’s going to be horrible. Please PLEASE don’t drive hours to get here, it’s likely to be closed by lunchtime & you’ll be disappointed. Go to your nearest beach & help everyone!
I might go quiet for a bit. Whether you agree with the Tiers or not, Dorset hospitals aren’t ‘empty’ & neither is the social care system & actually I’m too tired to argue this anymore.
Business needs T1. Wash your hands & be sensible, & hopefully we’ll be T1 in a few weeks.
Friday evening & a bit emotional thinking about the flat out dedication of my
@DorsetCouncilUK
colleagues, the skill, the focus - & humour! We’ll carry on over the weekend & do it all again next week & for weeks to come, for our communities, because we truly are
#oneteam
❤️
@JamesGilesRBK
@katekateg
James- voting records are so our residents can see how we vote in council meetings, not so you can bully people into beefing up your campaign.
How did I sign up to it? Please answer, I’ve asked several times.
@WorldBollard
It’s to unlock the door to the secret universe of Bollard. Few have entered and even fewer leave.
Will you be posting my bollard or do I need to collect it?
@sarajcox
I once retrieved a toddler from a cross-supermarket dash and returned him to his nan, saying ‘here we are , back safe with Grandma!’
She was his MUM. 😫😫😫
Made it to the second cabinet meeting before being asked if I was the ‘secretary taking the minutes’ 🙄 1)No I’m a cabinet member, don’t assume I’m taking mins cos I’m a GIRL 2) our democratic services team do way more than minutes & it’s an incredibly demanding job 🙄
So my mum goes to a choir for people with lung conditions like COPD & her choirmaster is holding it over Skype for now and has emailed them all saying they

We are IN!
In the midst of all this uncertainty & sadness, in a very strange time, Paul & I were privileged to finally be able to buy our first home together ❤️
I can’t believe it’s been 6 years since we lost Issy to leukaemia. Such a cool kid, hilarious, quick & so big hearted. She never stopped fundraising for ‘her’ charities- a local dog rescue and
@AnthonyNolan
who gave her an extra year with us ❤️ I miss her every single day.
@garwboy
My cockatoo told our village Vicar and a choir of doorstep carol singers to ‘f&^k off! Go, on, go away!’....the Vicar manfully maintained he was ‘just joining in the singing, bless him....’ 🙄🙄🙄
When I was crowd marshalling here last weekend, tons of people asked ‘which way to climb the arch to jump please?’ I was firm, perhaps rude in my response. There are signs everywhere.
This must stop. We can’t sustain this level of visitors, especially at the moment.
Right everyone. Here we go...We’re all tired, we’re all anxious, but
@DorsetCouncilUK
& our partners in health will continue our support, we will be right here, amongst our communities, keeping our county and our people going
#oneteam
This photo is hard. 9 years ago today I lost my wonderful daughter Issy to leukaemia & 10 years ago last week my amazing dad to mesothelioma. Life has never been the same.
Make every moment count ❤️
The 6th Christmas Day without her, and it doesn’t get easier. But it gets different, there are still plenty of good things to find...my gorgeous girl ❤️ hug your people, & if you’ve lost someone dear, you’ll get through it, there’s no other side, but this side is ok eventually ❤️
The
#PerseidsMeteorShower
marks my gorgeous daughter’s birthday & Issy would have been 20 tomorrow. Ten years.
She lives on in her brothers’ & cousins’ smiles, and in my heart, always.
Sometimes councils are accused of not listening.
This summer,
@DorsetCouncilUK
will be out and about in a town near you, with a sofa & some flags.
No agenda, no consultation, no questions, just open ears.
I am never knowingly under-accessorised.
The thing is, social care isn’t just getting people washed & dressed, it’s inclusive supportive communities, opportunities, prevention, ambition…the money will be helpful but social care needs to be viewed as the bedrock of a sustainable health system.
10y/o is positive, bit grotty but fine.
I’m a mess. Medical related PTSD combined with upcoming sad anniversaries of my dad & daughter dying mean that I’m driving him mad constantly checking on him.
PTSD/covid/January 😕
Anyone else struggling - brighter times ahead soon ❤️
@JamesGilesRBK
Could you answer my question please?
I appear to be ‘subscribed’ to your mailing list but don’t recall doing so?
You don’t intend to publish lists of supporters, whether anonymous or not; but you will be publishing lists of those who do not sign?
That’s bullying.
Tomorrow we are relying on people to behave sensibly to protect others.
Today hundreds of people drove past multiple large lit up ROAD CLOSED signs to get to a FULL beach.
Really confident about tomorrow.
@GerardArthurM
@Simon4NDorset
It’s difficult, isn’t it. We want our MPs to be more ordinary, more like us, less lofty - and when they are we criticise them! My language is pretty ripe sometimes, it doesn’t detract from my ability to do the job & I wouldn’t swear in meetings!
Following the events of the weekend at Durdle Door and elsewhere, Leader of Dorset Council, Cllr Spencer Flower, has written to the Prime Minister and to Dorset MPs calling for changes to travel rules requiring people to STAY LOCAL for now
#COVID19
@GrahamHuntPhoto
I was here all weekend volunteering as crowd control. I live in Lulworth, and it’s totally real, though plenty of people on FB are saying it’s fake. It’s been horrendous here.
Fantastic meeting
@RishiSunak
today at an event hosted by
@Simon4NDorset
I asked him about local gov & housing targets. He said he’d abolish centralised targets & let us decide.
Happy birthday to the NHS & Happy birthday to Social Care too! They go hand in hand & Care is vital in preventing people needing acute services, enabling independence for longer, & helping people to have a better day ♥️♥️♥️
Back again as M pulled through the night. All is peaceful. T has a bacon roll & a coffee, I have coffee & my laptop, working. Radio on. Nurses incredible
@DCHFT
, social team on hand for T when he’s home equally incredible
@DorsetCouncilUK
RIP RatFace DiggerDog.
She had a great life doing exactly as she pleased, oblivious to human instruction or intervention, destroying every toy in her path. Ron is bereft.
I will miss her terribly. Bye LilBit 💔
Childhood cancer so often missed and diagnosed at the last minute in A&E. We had no idea & had to bypass our GP in the end- and when Issy relapsed our GP told me I was ‘paranoid’.
Greater awareness needed ❤️
My first

since rejoining the backbenches! I asked
@BorisJohnson
for more training for GPs to spot the signs & symptoms of

Sophie Fairall’s story is heart-breaking & has revealed so many failings in the way we detect, treat and care for children with cancer
SO PROUD of my lovely Ma. Singing today in Poole Hospital w Breathless choir for people with lung conditions.
So many people smiling & singing as they walked past ❤️
Lovely to bump into
@S_HarringtonNHS
too & hear how well
@UHD_NHS
are doing!
And
@DorsetCouncilUK
we’ve just voted to exempt care leavers from council tax until they’re 25. You give your own kids a hand if you can- these are our corporate kids so we should help them too. Fantastic scheme from m’colleague
@CllrAndrewParry
It's
#NationalCareLeaversWeek
& we're investing £19m more to help looked after young people:
💷£10m Expanding
#StayingPut
- funding foster care up to 21
💷£6m Roll-out
#StayingClose
- allows those in residential care to stay close to carers they know
A huge thank you to
@DCHFT
EDEC Team who looked after me so well this morning when admitted with a heart rate of lots!
They were really kind & reassuring, I’ve forgotten all their names but they were all amazing, so professional & lovely
@NJJohno
(I’m ok now)
Love my job. I’ve a parish council this eve & they forgot to book the hall so we are meeting backstage with a room divider & competing with a Pink Floyd tribute band…
@DrNeilStone
@action_send
Just volunteered local clinic. End of day they call round all local NHS workers who can come in short notice for their jab. Any left they give to regular volunteers, prioritised by age. No wastage!
⭐️COMMUNITY RESILIENCE⭐️ so I’ve set up a Facebook event on our local community page where people can post requests for/offers of help, or put people who may be anxious/lonely in touch with a phone buddy ❤️ let’s use the outlets & contacts we already have to reassure & help ❤️
DEFRA has confirmed that we are the
#1
Unitary Council in the country for recycling!
We recycle 59.1% of the waste we collect, against a 43.4% national average.
This is down to YOU, keen recyclers of Dorset! Thank you all, and keep up the good work! ♻️
This is my feeling...
Jan/Feb national lockdown. If you are able, hibernate. The rest of us, focus on getting vaccines out. Support those who need it, teach remotely apart from keyworker kids.
Venture out, hopeful, in March.
@IanBeesleyphoto
My grandpa was taken into the Gordon Boys orphanage & his sisters in another - his mum locked away with ‘milk fever’. War widow w postnatal depression. He saw her once when she was released (in her late 60s!) & would never speak about it again.
Initial nose round our TEC room! Designed so service users can try out assistive tech, aiming to support independence & reduce isolation! Huge thanks to
@BrianHole110010
& the team....watch this space- we have some exciting projects coming up!
@DorsetCouncilUK

Dorset health & care pals- my mum’s lovely choir for people with ANY lung conditions/long Covid are looking for new members!
They are such a nice crowd. Could you share in your networks? ⭐️.

@DorsetCCG
@JimGammansCCG
@KarenRampton
I’m chuffed to have got Cabinet approval
@DorsetCouncilUK
to go ahead with our Assistive Technology programme. It will save money but more importantly will make SUCH a difference in helping people stay independent for longer. Dorset leading the way in this, more to come!
How do you stop birds coming to Dorset? Do you genuinely believe that police ought not to investigate crimes against animals? Deeply disappointed with this comment.
@DorsetCouncilUK
, with
@dorsetpolice
have just prosecuted an illegal puppy farm here. Should we not have bothered?
Dorset is not the place for eagles to be reintroduced. I’m not challenging government for more money for Dorset so it goes on this. I don’t condone this at all, but I want
@dorsetpolice
to focus on
#countylines
rather than spend time and resources on this.
Tough times for us all in social care at the moment. Thinking of all our incredible frontline teams & feeling very grateful for them.
Small treasures keep us going - my new notebook.
I didn't win the election but personally in my heart think that this was a really great experience and I learnt again what democratic life is and why political freedom is important to us. Life is a journey and the road not always be as smooth. I never give up on my destinations.
