We have triggered our Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) for rough sleepers in #Dorset during this period of freezing weather. Contact us on 01305 221000 or visit if you see or know someone who is sleeping rough. Help us to help them.

*Update* the A35 (eastbound) between the Puddletown/Blandford turnoff and the Tolpuddle turnoff has now re-opened. Dorset Police were in attendance, but the road has now been cleared and traffic looks to be flowing freely.

We are pleased to inform that Portland Beach Road remains open. Multi-agency teams have been closely monitoring sea conditions throughout the night and are confident that the risk of waves overtopping the causeway has now passed. The road can now remain open.

Team are currently on site at Portland Road monitoring sea conditions as there is a risk waves may overtop flood defences, making the causeway impassable. We will be monitoring the road throughout the night. Any notice of closure will be shared here. Please stay safe.
