1. The whole function is in a try. Try blocks should be as small as possible. Because if something throws, u will have a hard time figuring out what exactly did throw.

A man paid me over 50k GHS more than 5 years ago for a piece of software and all he wanted was a pdf optimized report he could read in the evening. There were all the bells and whistles, but he wanted none. I built it with php and we were both happy. he still uses it till today.
This is a great example of how junior employees think execs are stupid because they don’t have context.
An exec wanting dashboards sent via email so they can access them from their phone is something a data scientist should celebrate instead of dunking on the exec.
