@VivekGRamaswamy & @elonmusk if you can give me 30 seconds. Not only do bloated governments go on spending sprees with our money, they often shoot themselves in the foot—so to speak—when it comes to enabling tax revenue. State governments selectively implement laws that defy federal laws or levy additional taxes, including on supplies for hunting. States like New York, for example, are quick to implement new laws—such as the proposed 11% sales tax on firearms and ammunition—which pass with ease through supermajority governments. Voters and taxpayers are told fantasy stories about these taxes funding public health or safety programs, but few seem to read the fine print. How can we know if we are getting what we’re paying for if we can’t see it? There is little transparency about where the revenue goes or how much is generated. In fact, as of now, finding total revenue figures for firearms taxes in New York is nearly impossible. For reference, in 2021, the federal government collected approximately $155.8 million in business tax revenue from the firearm industry in New York—about $8 per state resident. Yet, for state-level taxes, we are largely left in the dark. The so-called “public services” funded by these taxes in many states are often heavily controlled by anti-gun groups. These organizations routinely cite data that holds about as much credibility as a Purdue Pharma narcotics report—questionable, biased, and designed to suit their agenda. Without transparent reporting, clear allocation of funds, or credible data to support their effectiveness, it’s impossible for taxpayers to trust that their money is being used responsibly. It’s a cycle of taxation without accountability, and voters deserve better. #DOGE via @AmmoLand

"Adjustment"... brilliant political speak for "government with yet another hand your wallet." We need @Jack4NJ
Murphy‘s budget is up more than $18 billion in six years. And yet, he’s about to hit New Jersey commuters with a 15% fair increase to make up for budget deficits in NJ Transit. It’s just another day in Phil Murphy’s New Jersey. We need competent fiscally responsible leadership.
