Seriously @NPRinskeep and @MorningEdition you spend three minutes talking about the Sabbath reunion and the band's massive metal influence & ONLY mention Ozzy? No peep about Iommi, the mighty WARD or Butler. I know it's meant to be a fun segment, but c'mon.

Regarding use of content provenance metadata for proof by insurance industry discussed right now by @MeghnaWBUR @OnPointRadio, this is happening today. My upcoming research report on C2PA addresses data use, privacy, interoperability in relation to these systems.

@HeyRaChaCha A type of system used throughout policing. It uses algorithmic models fed w signals from array of near-real-time data to detect threats, potential incidents, etc. Definitely controversial yet kinda ubiquitous in commercial & law enforcement settings.

Obviously using race or ethnicity to frame attitudes re: ethical implications of AI as illustrated in this recent @NeurIPSConf incident is inappropriate. In my reporting, I've talked to AI researchers inc @CVPRConf who are reluctant to acknowledge social impacts of their work.
Mitigating racial bias from LLMs is a lot easier than removing it from humans! Can’t believe this happened at the best AI conference @NeurIPSConf We have ethical reviews for authors, but missed it for invited speakers? 😡
