instead. Also still want visit every US national park before I die.
I once asked my father why he immigrated to the US. He said, “This was the only country where I could make my dreams come true.”
He died last year still loving the US, while also seeing its imperfections.
Today is also my mom’s birthday. We’re a true a mom & apple pie family.
Normally I would never plug a book. But this is for my dad.
He worked for 20 yrs on a translation of the Bhagavad Gita - it connects science & spirituality.
He finished a draft, but passed away last year before publication. We published it for him.
This is even MORE incredible in slow motion. 😳

For me, cricket is right up there with baseball in the pantheon of Most Boring Sports in the World.
HOWEVER, I love every single word of this article. 🇺🇸
@GQMagazine
I'm just gonna say it. I think it's important enough that we send a message that we will not support genocide even if it does result in the worst possible election outcome. it's worth burning it all down. it's worth what will happen to my own rights
The word(s) you think have been so over used that they’ve lost their true meaning.
Mine?
Support.
I’m standing in a pharmacy line next to a sign that says “wart removal support”. That’s my hill. Right there.
@davidfrum
CNN should not play this game. There comes a time when not amplifying the man who led an insurrection against the United States is the right thing to do.
And, I genuflect before the
@MerriamWebster
writer who provided me with these two sentences that will lift my spirits for DAYS. Bless you and thank you.
“We did it wrong,” said an on-air personality. “We treated him like a normal politician who could be fact-checked. We ended up dancing around a demagogue”
My dad was very much a “strive for constant improvement” person - something he always expected from himself, his kids, and his country.
I always loved that approach. Appreciation and expectation combined. We can hold these things simultaneously in our minds.
What color a woman wears does not matter. If a man wears eyeliner does not matter. What matters is knowing in what direction they will take this country.
If you're interested in Hinduism, or non-monotheistic views of the universe, or science and spirituality, you might want this (very affordable!) book.
It's also how my dad tried to teach us how to live our lives. He blessed us with these lessons.
Love you forever, Dad. ❤️
Also, that Eric Idle interview. He was sitting right across the table from me. And that guy is hella funny! It’s either laugh like a real human or fully embrace public radio Schwettyballs-ness. I choose the former.
I won’t forget this interview Graham granted us. Years after 9/11 and just after Jamal Khashoggi’s murder, he was still pushing for the truth about Saudi involvement, still a searing and powerful critic of the US-Saudi relationship.
The marine mammals are sending a clear signal - you pollute our homes with garbage and noise, you strip mine the sea. Oh, and by the way, we have intelligence, so yeah, we’re mad as hell.
CVS pharmacy has the most challenging customer facing operations. Lines always so long. Can’t tell if it’s bc of low staffing, or a bottleneck w PBM and/or insurance communications. But everyone is looking miserable here. Employees too. Needs improvement.

Hi Benjamin - greetings! My show
@OnPointRadio
is doing the interview with Dr. Cass. One correction to your tweet - we are not an NPR show. We’re produced by a member station, and not distributed by NPR. There’s no connection to Mr. Berliner.
Excellent observation. And we need to remind folks in their 20s that this is not normal. It’s not how a healthy democracy operates. It can’t be normalized, for anyone.
The average person in their 20s has seen:
-the first successful ouster vote of a Speaker ever
-3 of the 4 presidential impeachments
-2 of the 4 popular vote-electoral college splits
-the first-ever presidential indictments
-a coup attempt
Sorry. I couldn’t resist. I spent so many Friday nights in the 90s glued to Mulder and Scully, it’s like my teenage soul has been waiting for this moment.
Sotomayor: If the president decides that his rival is a corrupt person and he orders the military to assasinate him, is that within his official acts to which he has immunity?
"That could well be an official act," Trump lawyer John Sauer says
I got a chuckle out of this too. Awesome costume. But those folks were right to call. We live in a country where it’s not unimaginable that someone would carry a real weapon into a joyful convention. Don’t @ me.

They’re just pissed off that we keep fouling their homes with pollution and sound that’s driving them mad. (Literally. Noise pollution in the oceans is causing ultra high stress and other health effects.) They’ve had enough. And I don’t blame them.
I had promised him editing help, but I let the little things in life get in the way. I so, so regret it. I think now what an incredible experience it would have been to work closely with my dad on his intellectual passion. I’m so sorry, Dad. I’ll make it up to you.
Reminder that 3 months is an eternity of eternity in political campaigns and elections. In this wormhole of a timeline we’re in, who the heck knows what might happen.
“Trump, who failed in his duty to protect the United States from attack by a mob seeking to stop the peaceful transition of power, and who sought himself to overthrow the results of an election he did not win, said things about things which were almost certainly a lie.”
Trump, who was never interested in preserving the post-World War II global alliances as a candidate or a president, would not say whether he would continue aid to Ukraine, a position in line with a number of GOP voters.
Again, this isn't about Ramaswamy's politics. My observation is more about why we in the media insist on hyphenating everyone, even when they don't hyphenate themselves?
It's almost as if we can't believe that someone might *not* prioritize ethnicity over nationality.

BREAKING: Attorney KEN CHESEBRO, who advised the Trump campaign on assembling a slate of Trump electors in swing states like Georgia, has reached a plea deal with Fulton prosecutors, according to a source familiar. (Confirming

Tina Turner, the raspy-voiced fireball who overcame domestic abuse and industry ambivalence to emerge as one of rock and soul’s brassiest, most rousing and most inspirational performers, has died. She was 83.
For the record, I am utter crap at solving cubes. So so so bad. When I was a kid they made a version with stickers for the colors, and I used to “solve” the cube by pulling the stickers off and sticking them back on. Lol. My admiration is for their excellence and dedication.
It seems to be part of a larger pattern about American innovation. This country remains excellent at creating new things. But maintaining services at a high level is not something US companies do well, or make a priority, regardless of corporate PR.
McConnell’s statement comes as no surprise, though. During the impeachment trial he spoke eloquently that: "Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day."
But then voted not guilty anyway.
Transparent about his loyalties.
Stop being so selfish! The flight is now behind schedule bc other people had to ask flight attendants for help. I can’t even. And this bin was better than others.
@RadioFreeTom
tell me I’m not 🤬nuts.
If we can’t do simple things, where’s the hope as a nation, I ask.
We didn’t edit it after he passed, so it’s very much on my dad’s voice, and not your typical popular religion/sci book. In that way, it’s super authentic to him - I hear his voice when I read it!
Thank you! However, all respect must really go to the amazing

Deep bow of respect.
Hypothetically, suppose that someone’s futurist philosophy as a tech billionaire is nothing more than thinly veiled fascism, and their ultimate goal is to architect an autocratic Martian society in which they rule as a despotic god-emperor. What do you do?
Cool reporting. Glad to know 60M lending its clout to an important issue. Welcome! Also listen to this
