In the NHS, those of us who survived still live with trauma. Some can physically no longer work due to long Covid from inadequate PPE.

We rely on GPs. I don’t think I realised until I worked in the NHS quite how much. They don’t just see us for appointments - *everything* goes back to them.

Yep. Overwhelmingly when I’ve worked on wards it’s the staff who are almost all migrants and the patients who aren’t. I’m actually in awe of the amount of racism I’ve witnessed them put up with to still keep coming back to work and treating people with the utmost dignity.

Full support for healthcare assistants. You know those people caring for you when you’re in hospital? The people who respond when you shout for a “nurse”? Almost certainly HCAs. They’re being expected to carry out increasingly skilled interventions & should be paid accordingly.
Tens of thousands of healthcare assistants across the UK are expected to take on clinical responsibilities above their pay band without any remuneration or recognition for it.
