@feelsdesperate @LeminenceGrease Maybe they have changed their minds. If so, they should change the law. Until they do, the law says a separate agency must exist to handle this mission That's all there is to it.

@MedTempTakes @973TheFanSD @Ken_Rosenthal Roberts was pretty frank after that series was over that he knew it was BS and he was just looking for something to get his team fired up. Which, I suppose, worked.

@librarythingtim Its frustrating to see social media AI prompts like the new Grok stuff here that is focused on answering questions when LLMs are actually just bad at that a lot of the time. These may be future uses, but they're not present ones. Present ones look like Grammarly.

@JacquesDexter @mike_petriello @YankeeWRLD But also the contract is *net profitable* and he offered it to everyone. Estimates of his first year revenue for the Dodgers are around 70-75m. Every team in MLB should have been willing to give him this deal because it *produces more revenue than it costs*.

@time_in_malta @JeffPassan And indeed that's still true of the other Dodgers with deferred money! It does not significantly impact their AAV for tax purposes, because they've got standard interest rates. Ohtani can afford to give a 680m loan with 0% interest, and he did, and it devalues his contract a lot

@time_in_malta @JeffPassan You didn't notice deferrals before Ohtani because other players deferred money at normal market interest rates and their contracts got devaued from 235m to 218m or something and you didn't notice.

@time_in_malta @JeffPassan In any case, this is a collectively bargained item that the Players Association has protected because it benefits players. Ownership would have to give something up to get them to agree to change it, which they probably won't do.

@time_in_malta @JeffPassan *it does* It just does so at a rate that is somewhat discounted to account for the fact that money in 10 years is worth less than money today

@FFist72 @_LunalaFan777 I mean the whole story of gen 8 is that the Pokemon League President is the evil guy and the 'bad guy team' are just some literal soccer hooligans.
