This was one of my favorite things to learn in law school and it still is entertaining to tell friends how that isn't actually true.
As disabled people predicted at the start of the pandemic, remote work options and other accessibility options are now being removed and disabled people are being denied work accommodations after having them for 18 months. Because this was always about protecting nondisabled ppl.
@MrAndyNgo
If you're going to deliberately misrepresent a photoshopped image, maybe do a better job and include the ankle, don't have part of her head behind a pole, and don't have her wrist intertwined in a metal fence several feet away.
@PeterSchiff
@J_Rehk14
This has to be a joke. Or a troll. This cannot be serious. A rational human being cannot possibly think that Zelenskyy is going to worry about bringing a suit to the office while there are active attacks on the capital where he's located.
@JortsTheCat
Amazing how they can do that when it affects them but if others, especially disabled people, are impacted it's suddenly impossible to work remotely. Huh.
@ben_inabinet60
@fodderyfodder
Dude, you've made it abundantly clear you don't actually understand the issue, but if you want to keep arguing with randos on the internet and making yourself look even more foolish than you already did, have at it, I guess.
I've worked remotely four out of five days for the last 18 months. My doctor has said it's medically necessary for me to remain working from home because of my immunosuppression. Yet management is "deciding what they need to meaningfully assess my request for accommodations."
Suddenly, what was not a business necessity when it affected nondisabled people is back to being a business necessity again. Almost as if disabled people know how this works and saw it coming.

My take is she's experiencing the pandemic from someone disabled/at high-risk & this is the experience for those people, & Gorsuch and his self-entitlement is the other experience.
I don't read it as Sotomayor being provocative. This is the disabled experience of the pandemic.
@AkivaMCohen
Respectfully, Akiva, the idea that no one can tell is based on the idea that they are required to keep it secret. Asexuals are frequently challenged about if they just haven't met the right person. People are uncomfortable in general with sexual minorities. This is no different.
That is, in fact, what a horizontal piece of paper looks like when it is stapled in the top left corner & lifted up to review a subsequent page.
Then again, there are a lot of people like this who could remain silent & be thought fools, but they open their mouths and prove it.

He's not losing any retirement benefits. He's got more than 19 years, right? And he's got 47.5 days of leave. He says he's staying on until he accrues 62 days of leave, at which point he'll use them and then "resign."
If he was really resigning, he would do so now.
@BreeNewsome
The research put out right now is also focused on men having sex w/men even when studies show it's not just them. I'm a patient reviewer for BMJ & just reviewed an article like that. The same article also noted how many STIs patients had but didn't explain why they noted that.

As a WW, I completely agree with her re: racism being unconscious. I did lots of racist things w/o realizing they were racist until I learned. I'm sure I'll find more going forward. Until we WP can grasp that racism isn't always a conscious thought, we're gonna keep being racist.

Exactly this. This caught my attention the second I read it. The DOJ WANTS to release this. This is practically begging the court to give them the go-ahead.
And I suspect the receipt will eclipse the photo in terms of damning evidence against Trump.
A footnote largely eclipsed by all the other news: "the government is prepared, given the extraordinary circumstances, to unseal the more detailed receipt and provide it immediately to Plaintiff."

For all the conservative complaints about judicial activism, Alito's opinion invented "guideposts" that are fabricated from whole cloth and which don't exist ANYWHERE in the language of Section 2.

No, he didn't do so close to retirement. Read the letter. He won't be done until after he's hit 20 years. 47.5 days of leave, is remaining on until he accrues 62 days of leave, and then will use that before resigning. That'll put him over 20 years.
