Only being a little silly when I say that a decent goal for a classical education is to be able to sing “I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major General,” know at least a little about all the things it refers to, and especially to think it’s funny
I know people mean well when they say “just snuggle that newborn mama, the laundry can wait” but they don’t seem to understand that my entire household is in shambles when it’s not done and just makes life even harder. So it’s really stressful to hold a crying baby all day
@DeAngelisCorey
When they go to private school, it’s “the best choice for my family” and “my parents were lucky to have that option”
When you or I choose private school it’s “religious brainwashing”
@AndrewYang
The fact that there are so many replies saying "because they're all stupid" is an amazingly clear actual answer; 68 million people find it annoying to be called stupid (and evil) over and over by people who consider themselves superior
I’ve been through 1.5 children in K and I’m becoming radicalized to the idea that real schooling needs to start in 1st. They just aren’t ready.
They can go, & play, investigate bugs, listen to books, phonemic awareness, recite poetry, etc but pencil and paper stuff has to wait.
The biggest black pill for me was realizing that basically every celebrity female has had at least one abortion, that it’s basically an inherent part of the whole lifestyle of everyone I grew up listening to or watching on tv, every beautiful woman in the public eye…. So bleak.

, who couldn’t quite keep her pronouns internally consistent.
Missed a chance to use a convenient neuter Latin ending too, and call herself an alumnum.
I’m not sure if this is controversial or not, but kids should read stories and watch movies that include death. They should go to funerals, too. And you should tell them the truth about it, even when very young. Simplify but never deceive.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but here’s a truth I have learned: with toddlers, basically the only things that work are modeling, redirection, and time. This is unfortunate because those aren’t quick and usually require getting up
@AP
The responses in this thread make it so clear that people on the left aren’t interested in more female representation in govt at all, just more progressive representation. Like it was a secret.
@TulsaTeresa
@DeAngelisCorey
This isn’t about elite families with tons of cash. This is about families who can’t afford private school and whose kids have no choice but failing zoned schools. Can you really look them in the eye and say “on your own dime”?
@clhubes
It’s an honor to take care of babies or elders who are “needy/messy.” We should be glad of their presence because they remind us our humanness is not rooted in how useful or convenient we are.
The fact that the White House is talking about the store that sold the gun instead of the federal agents who cuffed a mother whose kids were ABOUT TO BE MURDERED.
A Uvalde mother was PLACED IN HANDCUFFS by Federal Marshalls on scene for attempting to enter the school to get her child. Another man was tased for trying to get his kid off a bus. All while Salvador Ramos was alive inside killing kids
@MattWalshBlog
The underlying problem is that they equate wage work with importance and status and homemaking as drudgery. In reality it’s nearly opposite, which is why it’s awesome my husband deals with corporate America BS all day so I don’t have to and so we can share a good life together
@_BarringtonII
I don’t even get the freezing eggs thing. You’re 53 and you want to have a newborn? You want to chase a toddler? You want to be 71 at their high school graduation?? I don’t get it

This is just so, so ignorant. The Mass is almost entirely scripture, both the rotating readings and the consistent prayers. Bible in a Year is the biggest Christian podcast. I mean there are just a thousand ways to prove this embarrassingly wrong
This is a Husband Appreciation Post 🥰 I’m going through an awful time medically right now and he’s on the phone with specialists, driving all around to get me oxygen tanks, taking care of the kids, encouraging me, etc etc etc. He’s a mighty good man, and I thank God for him.
I don’t mean to be ungrateful. I’m glad I have a cute, healthy baby who needs her mama. I’m just not a very good person and lose heart so fast these days

@wcsdistrict
Lol I love how it says “instead of she and her” but nothing about he/him, because this person is obviously female and knows that even kids will have the common sense to observe this
@ColumbiaBugle
@RepTimmons
why are you voting for $40 billion in foreign aid when there is no baby formula at the store, inflation is 8.3% and gas is $4.20? Who are you there for? It doesn’t seem like Greenville’s concerns are yours
@sarahbeth345
I do think it’s a bit gross to have a little kid wearing a shirt saying “love is for everybody” but what they mean by love is “perverse sexual desires”
@LauraRbnsn
I hear a thousand stories of someone whose kid was ALMOST kidnapped when some weirdo guy seemed to be following the mom around Walmart, etc. Weirdly, I have never heard of a story where that actually did happen.
This is actually the exact point- your family had a range of options to choose what was best for you. Good!
All families should have that, and school choice is a way to include everyone - not just those who can afford private school or moving to preferred districts
The CATO institutes
@DeAngelisCorey
thought he did something with this tweet.
Bless his heart.
Let’s break down my education.
Elementary: Public
Middle School: Charter
High School: Private
I can speak with experience to all 3. Sit down.
@secularprolife
This really reveals the lie we’ve told ourselves- that we have to be completely “ready” and financially comfy before starting a family. It’s so not true and not even better for kids. It’s good to get through tough times together, as a couple/family.
The first time in my adult life I registered that someone was completely full of shit was when a super lib, very rich lawyer I know tried to tell me his thoughts on charter schools were “nuanced” because his kids went to one but he opposed them in general.
"If charter schools mostly benefited the children of the aristocrats who live in the Upper East Side instead of the peasantry in the South Bronx, Democrats would be fighting tooth and nail to ensure the children of the exalted keep their charter system."
At the end CNN's Don Lemon says "Amen. Same with my parents. And that's how it should be."
I'm glad
@donlemon
had that opportunity.
But why fight against school choice for others?🤔
Every time I start feeling despondent about the state of American schools, I think back to when I was in college, wanting to teach in a classical school, but having none within hundreds of miles. Almost unimaginable just a decade later.
@JeremyTate41
Our Lady of the Rosary in Greenville, SC has doubled in student body in the last two years. I can’t tell you what a joyful and studious place it is, and it’s better every year.

What does it say about public schools, even just on a functional system level, that this thing which they *now* say is so appalling went on for so long? Like who gave permission? Who announced it? Who organized the AV setup? So many people who had to be ok with it all
So we don’t think her mother would ever wonder what if she had had a daughter like her? Never met the man she loved?
Why do we think loving people isn’t living but eating Japanese food is?!
SCOOP: A Colorado teachers union leader emailed all staff to rally opposition to a new charter school in the area because "it is anticipated to cause a further decrease in enrollment across our district" and "less students = less $$"
I've obtained a whistleblower document 🧵👇
Abiding by dress codes and other social norms -especially at something like a wedding - is an act of humility and charity and worth teaching your children to aspire to. How is another question but modeling disrespect for them certainly ain’t it- not virtuous or cute.
@uppityhobbit
When it comes to a case like this... dressing like batman or anything similar, no, I don't enforce a standard. In fact, I deliberately flout the standard - I wear Hawaiian shirts with alien bikini girls on them under linen sport coats to places I shouldn't. My son takes after me.
@americamag
Sorry folks but those are the facts. Super long engagements are hard and miserable and I don’t think it’s a stretch to call it a near occasion of sin. A year of superficial prep is not going to make stronger marriages; it will do the opposite

Well they can spend endless hours masturbating which is much easier. Why put yourself on the line? There is also the physiological damage from that as well.
@KneelForOurKing
This reminds me of the first chapter in Frederick Douglass’ autobiography where he describes the lengths slaveholders went to prevent mothers and children from developing bonds. It was barbaric and wicked then and it is now, too
@PappaSciarappa
Tribalism is not a fair word for this IMO- people from all camps and all over every spectrum have been worried about it. It’s actually a great example of overcoming tribalism.
@bebookled
If God designs women by nature (but not men) to be fulfilled by children first and foremost then according to His own plan there will be lots of men who don’t marry (good!) but lots of women who don’t marry (bad!) and I don’t see how that makes sense.
