Some of the most cogent analysis of Labour’s defeat coming from within the party is being articulated by @PaulEmbery . His voice - grounded, thoughtful, rooted in Labour trade union tradition - needs to be listened to if the party is to have a future.

Embarrassing stunt from @bristolgreen this pm in DCA. If you want to resign based on a point of principle that is, of course, the right of any elected Cllr. But have some respect for the days agenda and the public already trying to navigate a complex day. Desperate actions.

@martr101 I think it’s probably a position imposed from the top of the national party. It is odd seeing Bristol South CLP vehemently campaigning in favour of the Mayoral system when the sitting Labour MP Karin Smyth is strongly against it

@AudreySuzanne @stillawake @adam_ldr @bristol247 @TheBristolCable @SimsonPete @johndarvall @VassiliPapa @bristol_citizen @David_on_a_bike Excellent question 👏 It was a pathetic response. In my own limited experience, the disingenuous and at times patently deceitful behaviour of @BristolCouncil in the way it handles FOI requests ends up in creating a lot more extra work for the local authority

And according to the Goram Homes website this destruction of Castle Park is going to provide the princely sum of 24 flats for social rent. This is such a demented way to tackle the housing crisis.

@AudreySuzanne @COP28_UAE @DanicaPriest @BristolTreeFora @bristolgreen @SBZGardens @avonwt @BrisMeadows @Catherinewith11 @stillawake This sems to have taken place in New York in September. I was struck again by Rees’ authoritarian tone, his dismissal of democratic debate and his warnings about the time when leaders like him will be making major interventions for our own good. He was also v keen to fly to Miami

These are always well worth listening to. Neil’s a terrific interviewer who’s prepared to push his interviewees into difficult areas without ever being aggressive or disrespectful. Always a very human interaction and he does his research too.

This week, we have opened a new multi-faith area in the free waiting zone. Located just off the Silver Zone roundabout, the new area provides customers with a private space to reflect and pray whilst waiting to collect friends, family or loved ones.

Good to see another member of the Friends of Castle Park Facebook group speaking out. You can’t just claim part of the city as yours and then attempt to bully and smear anyone who raises objections, even if the council have got your back.

@RLukeDuBois @HaggardHawks @Chronotope I'm sure the West Country pirate accent was used in the theatre even earlier than G&S. But the whole statement is muddled. The character of Long John Silver runs a dockside tavern in Bristol and Stevenson set the start of Treasure Island in the West Country because...
