My daughter's Y3 teacher is the absolute GOAT. She single-handedly crocheted a mini-me of each kid in her class as an end of year gift. Approx. 8hrs per doll. Even the hairstyles and clothes are spot on. What a legend.
@hebe_jane
Apparently, 3 months (if Y3's reports are to be trusted 😅). She seems to be amazing at multi-tasking. E.g. watching the Euros and crocheting (she took pics to show the class 😁).
I'm in a lockdown book club with a Czech & an Italian. We pick a book in our 1st lang and look for translations into the other 1st langs - or English when not available/hard to get.
Great way to get yourself outside of the English lang literary bubble.

“The language we use reflects who we are, where we come from, and the shared histories we have as members of our communities.”
@hwc001
sounds familiar? 😀
Wise words to get ALL teachers thinking about the role languages play in learning EVERYTHING.

A great opportunity to increase access to research insights in education and my favourites - multilingualism and language education: an avenue for UK-based researchers to publish

Big news for UK researchers and libraries. We've just agreed a major transitional deal with

This means millions of researchers at 138 UK institutions can now publish

at no direct cost.
And it's done! Final assignment submitted for

"Learning can be done in many ways and, most importantly, children will want their parents to be parents, not teachers, in this time of huge anxiety and uncertainty."

My first language is Polish. At school I learnt English and Russian, then Italian at uni. Now I live in the UK and work with a very international team. English is our Lingua Franca, but we switch codes a lot!
@EAL_naldic
Dokładnie 10 lat temu okazało się, że język polski jest drugim po angielskim najczęściej używanym językiem w Anglii. Ciekawe, co pokaże marcowy census!

How exam papers are marked - and examiners "examined" themselves! Great summary of the process that has made Pearson Edexcel's marking the most reliable in the UK in the last couple of years!
I would love RSC even without their education and outreach work, and yet, here they are, doing an amazing job once again. Resources for 11-18 year olds. Teachers: Use and Share!
