Does that work out from a physics perspective? ~7,000 lb vehicle, ~15 lb arm, 24.2 mph… I just don’t think that’d deflect the steering wheel to a measurable extent. We’re also told that this impact was some sort of strange glancing blow to account for the fact that it caused no skeletal injuries, bruising, or damage to any part of the vehicle other than the taillight lens,* which broke into ~50 pieces, most of which somehow came off the side-facing part of the lamp assembly. Also, I’m no physiologist, but I’m pretty sure the steering wheel deflected in the opposite direction from what Paul’s, uh, theory would predict. If you hit the rear of a car off-center on the right, the car will be yawed to the left, which’ll cause the front wheels to turn to the right. Think about it. *one of the reflectors under the rear-facing part of the lens had some hairline cracks, and a piece of chrome plastic broke.

@ScottRobertNZ @Mbrown0328 @NerdeePinkPanda The lights were set up in some kind of stand. Lally asked about it on cross-x. The light IRL is not on an unyielding surface; it’s mounted on a panel that isn’t very hard to dent.

Was he lying when he testified to his detailed recollection of O’Keefe’s puffy coat? No! He just doesn’t remember the call very well, to the point that his memory includes an event that simply didn’t happen (he talked about how he didn’t use the shears to remove O’Keefe’s puffy coat and the difficulty of pulling it off over O’Keefe’s frozen hands). Nuttall also testified that this case gets talked about all the time at the fire hall. Soooo…

That isn’t gaslighting. To “gaslight” someone is to try to make them think they’re crazy. It’s not exactly the same thing as lying. For example, when Lally pretended the CW never said KR made a 3-point turn, that was gaslighting. I wouldn’t call you a gaslighter. Your style is more “Cultural Revolution”; dogmatic and impervious to new information.

@OnTheRecordSC Didn’t that one guy get indicted for doing exactly the same thing? What’s up with that?

It depends on how quickly your body temperature drops, which varies with the air temperature, among other things. I’m undecided on whether that search happened at 2:27. If it did, I think the purpose was to find out how long they’d have to leave JO outside (or say he was outside) to make it look like he died of hypothermia. I think he was already dead, or at least that the perps thought he was dead.

The public don’t know, because that information pertains to a USDOJ investigation, and they’re strict about confidentiality. My guess is that it was either reviewed by different experts or simply had not *yet* been reviewed by ARCCA. But again, I don’t see how that data changes anything. ARCCA’s opinion is based principally on experimental data that ruled out a pedestrian strike at *15* mph on the ground that even at that speed, the test taillight assemblies were taking more damage than Read’s actual taillight had. Joe Paul’s two most ridiculous comments aside (regarding a small steering angle change and a 0.6 mph drop in velocity between 9.0 and 9.5 seconds), there’s *nothing* in that data suggestive of a collision. The impact testing just confirmed that KC 1162 is not a record of a collision. In fact—and again, I’m no car-ologist—I’m damn near certain the data doesn’t even show real movement of the vehicle; just the tires spinning.
