Joe Douglas has been the GM for 5 years.
The Lions completed their rebuild in two years.
The Texans completed their rebuild in one year.
The Browns are competing for the AFC North title with the ghost of Joe Flacco and a banged up OL.
But yeah, sure. Let's give JD year 6.
"I fought depression in New York, bro. I had to make a move. They do not want to win."
Jamal Adams says it was so bad with the Jets that his dad called his agent saying that he needed his son out of town.

The New York Jets should win at least 7 games next season. Anything less is inexcusable.
This will be Joe Douglas' third offseason in a row with premium draft capital and being among the leaders in cap space.
QB in place and stability at HC/OC/DC.
No excuses.
Here's something I see no one mentioning.
If it comes down to Miami or the

for Deshaun Watson, here is what Joe Douglas should be telling Houston.
"We have 2, they have 3. They give you 3, we still have 2. We'll probably take your guy."

If the Jets don't make a move at the deadline to make Zach Wilson's life easier, that's a massive fail.
We have a borderline Pro Bowl caliber safety who wants out and tons of draft picks. Go get a starting TE and possibly even an upgrade at C/RG.
And sign Josh McCown already.
Lawson keeps getting snaps, which pushes McDonald to the bench, and he is completely invisible.
Cobb keeps getting snaps, which pushes Hardman to the bench, and he is completely invisible.
Uzomah keeps getting snaps, pushing Ruckert to the bench, and he is completely invisible.
Jamal Adams left the Jets because he wanted to join a winning culture.
His QB for the foreseeable future is Geno Smith and Seattle currently sits in last place in their division. You can't make this stuff up, folks.
Joe Douglas' work today so far:
SIGNED
DE Carl Lawson 3/$45m
WR Corey Davis 3/$37m
LB Jarrad Davis 1/$5.5m
RE-SIGNED
WR Vyncint Smith
HB Josh Adams

The Jets currently have the 3rd most cap space in the NFL and keep creating more.
Is a big move on the horizon, and who could it be if they aren't interested in Hopkins?
So now Jim Harbaugh, Mike Vrabel, and Pete Carroll could all potentially be in the market for a new HC gig, but the Jets would rather stick with arguably the worst HC and staff in the entire NFL. Fantastic.
Don't forget this if/when the Jets settle for a nobody next year.
A shocker in Seattle: Pete Carroll is expected to be out as the Seahawks head coach, per sources. He still could remain in the organization, but not as the head coach.
This season has been a letdown, but let's take a look at the positives.
Quincy Williams established himself as a top-tier LB.
Sauce is on a 1st ballot HoF trajectory.
Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall are elite no matter how bad the team is.
Finally beat the Eagles.
On to 2024.
According to Bleacher Report, the WORST move of the entire NFL offseason was... 👇
It's unbelievable that people are actually paid to write nonsense like this. The season can't get here soon enough.
@jacklich10
@PFF_George
So you seriously think it makes more sense to take a backup QB with a premium pick than a potentially superstar RB? Lmaoo, this guy really gets paid to talk about football? Maybe re-think that one, PFF.

Good enough to win a ring? Just need a solid swing tackle due to LT & RT being injury prone 😬
@NYJ_Matt
Keith Carter has exactly 0 redeemable qualities, his players don't like him, like 14/15 of his top lineman from the past two years have missed time with injuries, and every lineman looks worse than ever under his tutelage. But hey, welcome back coach Carter!
For the first time in Sam Darnold's career, he has:
- NFL caliber TEs
- Multiple above avg WRs
- A coaching staff that knows what they're doing
- An elite RB (best safety blanket in the league)
- A very weak schedule
So yeah, he's playing much better. Why is anyone surprised?
Embree did not develop Breece, one of the best RBs in NCAA history.
He was a bad coach who previously had no RB coaching experience. He, like many others, was hired simply because he was Saleh's friend. That's precisely why the coaching staff sucks. Unqualified people everywhere
Sources:

RB coach Taylor Embree will not be returning to the team next year.
Embree helped develop Breece Hall into one of the game’s best backs despite inconsistent line play. Was one of Robert Saleh’s untouchables when Nathaniel Hackett was hired.
Now he’s gone.
@RichCimini
McDonald being inactive tomorrow would be absolutely unacceptable. If this was going to be the case, there were OL, WRs, TEs, DTs available that could have been starting right now. Our top 2 picks can't even get on the field and the team isn't exactly loaded everywhere. Pathetic
@RichCimini
So to recap:
- Refs take away 30+ yard play due to a terrible call.
- League fines Lazard for something that wasn't even a penalty to begin with.
- League fines opposing player for what clearly should have been a penalty, but wasn't.
Life of a Jets fan. Week after week...
@ravenwizardd
@PFF
He's arguably the best CB of all time. That warrants being considered a top 10 defensive player ever. I love Reed, but if a team could choose to have one in their prime, I think most would choose Revis bc of the positional value and how great Revis was. Completely eliminated WR1
Can we take a moment to appreciate what Garrett Wilson is doing? The
#Jets
haven't had a WR with back to back 1k seasons since '98-'99.
Wilson is on track to accomplish that feat, despite playing in the worst passing offense in the league over the last two seasons. Special.
@RichCimini
Honestly whats the point? Its not like if they win Gase is suddenly going to become a mastermind. Him being fired should have nothing to do with an upcoming game, we all know he's a goner. Cut the theatrics and let's all move on.

Exactly, its about the best of the best. Edelman was never even a top 30 WR at any point in his career. It's laughable. He was just lucky enough to play with the best QB of all time his entire career

Doesn't it make more sense for the Jets to be getting the picks? Seeing as how they're the team that actually hired him to be HC.....
I don't want to hear a single damn excuse about Tennessee not having Brown or Jones. We've been the most injured team in the league the past 3 seasons and no one has ever felt bad for us.
No Lawson, Becton, Curry, Joyner, J. Davis, Moore, and many others. The better team won.
The Jets are FINALLY bringing in a veteran QB.
Not Carson Wentz. Not Colt McCoy. Not Tyrod Taylor. Not Matt Ryan. Not Josh Johnson. Not even Joe Flacco...
Trevor Siemian.
The incompetence of this team never siezes to amaze me. This team does everything wrong.
I will never forgive you, Adam Gase.
Not talking about how you turned us into a dumpster fire in record time.
I'm talking about neglecting Denzel Mims. Mims was open non stop all season. There were dozens of garbage time opportunities & you made NO EFFORT to get this man a TD.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but there is approximately a 0.0% chance that Travis Etienne or Najee Harris are drafted by the Jets.
Just like those of you that thought Sam was staying, you have to let it go.
@uSTADIUM
What's the sense in cutting him? Even after Cook, the Jets are around the middle of the league in cap space and Davis is arguably the second most talented WR on the team. Would be a terrible move unless a better WR is brought in to replace him somehow
Call me crazy, but I think the Jets have a decent chance tonight. These are the kinds of games the Jets sometimes win. Absolutely no one expects them to win, and most don't expect them to even be competitive. Get MetLife rocking like it was Week 1 and anything is possible.
Mims and Moore going up against arguably the best corner in the league (Jaire Alexander) is going to be invaluable to their development.
Same with Becton and AVT going up against one of the best pass rush duos in the league - Preston Smith and Za'Darius Smith.

I'm sick of these crappy career backup QBs discrediting today's stars just because they're bitter that they were never nearly as good. cc: Trent Dilfer
If there was ever a week where the fans need to make a statement, this is it. The Chargers are notorious for their lack of a fanbase. Should be barely any blue or yellow in the stands. Need Metlife to be rocking all night. The players feed off of it. Rise to the occasion.

@CSimmsQB
Cherry picking? Lmao dude, 80% of every game he's awful. You also don't seem to comment on the big plays he leaves on the field. So often receivers are WIDE open and he neglects them.
This team is legitimately one more offseason away from being a contender.
- On track to be top 3 in cap space (again) in 2022
- Two 2022 1st rd picks
- Two 2022 2nd rd picks
- Stability (HC/GM/OL)
Saleh and the staff need to put in work, but things are looking very good.

Carl Lawson, Duane Brown, CJ Uzomah, and Jordan Whitehead will likely all be gone next year.
However due to restructures, they will still combine for $20.2 million towards next season's cap hit. Joe Douglas deserves a ton of criticism. This offseason will be very frustrating.
@Connor_J_Hughes
Well he's done as a Jet. Joe Douglas will be entering his fifth season as GM, and OL is even more of a mess than when he got here, despite him preaching for years the importance of building a wall. He's failed so epically.
@Connor_J_Hughes
You can overpay ONE player ONE time when you're team is 6-27 over the past two seasons. Williams absolutely would've been worth 15-17m. He's 25 and just entering his prime. That would have been a huge move for this roster
