Every time I go birding in spring or fall and I have to actively try so hard to see any migrating birds I remember that quote from birders describing warblers as “dripping from the trees” and I get unbelievably angry.

Sounds like the residents have taken a vote & it’s out of your hands.
Come along with me on my carnage (I mean course) check this morning. What should be one of the most beautiful golf courses in the country is being destroyed by herds of javelina. If anyone has a contact in AZ state govt that can help us find a solution please pass it along.

ONCE AGAIN HERE TO REMIND PEOPLE THAT CANADA GEESE ARE PERFECT.THEY HAVE AN EMPATHETIC COMMUNITY SYSTEM.IF YOU HAVE SUFFERED VIOLENCE FROM A GOOSE, JUST KNOW, AT ONE POINT, YOU DESERVED IT.
Our last 4 goslings have been released to join a flock of Canada Geese!. These 4 were all in care for various reasons - 1 was a true orphan, 2 had fishing line wrapped around their legs that caused constriction injuries, & 1 had a fishing hook AND line in & around their legs.

An 80+ year old woman accidentally kicked a copperhead who got into her bed. The snake bit her, she GRABBED it & contained it, called us, then called 9-11. Turns out it was a dry bite, & the snake was MASSIVE. She wanted the snake released unharmed - now SHE is fucking cool.
One of my earliest memories is my cousin killing a copperhead with a hoe, and he also had a Pontiac Firebird, and in 1984, he was basically the coolest person alive. And I just needed to share that with the world.

“Faces off” you mean a bear literally tries to just get down a stairwell??? You can tell how uncomfortable this bear is getting close to this person & their dog - this bear isn’t “facing off”’with anyone.
A close encounter in Gatlinburg: watch as a bear faces off with a woman and her dog before casually heading down a stairwell.

Ok but has anyone asked why they look like that.
The night we caught > 1% of the world's Spoon-billed Sandpiper population for tagging to understand their movements along their 8,000km migration route #WorldMigratoryBirdDay

THIS is why hunting orgs aren’t taken seriously when they say “we’re conservationists!”.

My coworker got bit by a rabies vector species & required a booster as she’s already vaccinated against rabies. The doctor and nurses at the hospital she went to knew next to nothing about rabies - we’re talking about how turtles can get rabies but opossums can’t &-.
Rabies Vaccine PSA🚨:. Rabies is 100% fatal if you are exposed and do not get vaccinated. If you see a mammal acting strange, DO NOT TOUCH IT. If you have been licked, scratched or bitten, assume you've been exposed. If exposed you MUST GET A VACCINE OR YOU. WILL. DIE.

Very few bites; LOTS of euthanized animals because of Unqualified People Trying To Raise/Keep Wildlife, aka exactly what this guy did. I am vaccinated, but guess what - a rabies vaccine is not 100% effective, & I have had to get boosters after bites.
@GovernorAnne @Jess_inthewild Ask her how many bites she's experienced as a wildlife rehabilitator, and how many animals she has had euthanized in order to perform a necropsy for testing.

@Charlietrypsin Remember - domestic cats are not native wildlife, & thus they should not be allowed to wander about to eat & kill wildlife, use neighbor’s gardens as their litter boxes, spread disease, & most importantly - to be injured by preventable causes, like cats, poison, predators, etc!.

Begging people to understand when you’re a boring, uninvolved owner, of course your pet is going to take the environment that actually enriches them.
@bunsenbernerbmd @sshole Cat flaps are the data you need. Any cat owner who offers their felines a choice of indoor or outdoor will tell you their cat will more often than not choose outdoors. Some choose to stay in, but most would be unhappy. They are part of the ecosystem.

@AnneWHilborn coined it first I believe, but - THEY CREATE A 3RD SPACE PORTAL VAGINA THAT OPENS UP WITHIN THE CONNECTIVE TISSUE TO GIVE BIRTH ONTO THEIR ABDOMEN WHERE BABIES SWIM OUT & DOWN INTO THE POUCH. This 3rd vagina then CLOSES without ANY EVIDENCE IT EVER EXISTED AFTER

Sounds like you’re doing too much. This is a losing battle. Pivot towards a javelina sanctuary. Do less. The pigs cannot be stopped.
@TurfEnto We sprayed the entire course in April and August with high rate Tetrino, Aloft, and Acelepryn. We haven’t found any grubs in any of the damage, just earth worms. We’ve discussed Sevin or some other carbaryl spray for next season as well.

Me when random ppl with zero animal experience except watching viral animal videos and owning an outdoor cat want to make their opinion known on the internet.
Sorry guys people on the internet said I hate animals, guess being angry at irresponsible humans who keep wild animals in their homes, feed them to obesity and get them killed by breaking the law and choosing their own comfort over the animals makes me a meanieeee 🥺.

In case you’re wondering - this opossum mom & babies were rehabilitated at @BRWildlifeCtr after mom was injured. She was rehabbed w/ her babies & everyone was released once healed!

No bc #FedWildlifeIsDeadWildlide Despite it feeling like a good thing, feeding & congregating wildlife unnaturally & habituating them to people often leads to them contracting & spreading diseases, getting hurt by ppl & cars, or causing issue to the point they need to be put down.
