You are 100% correct. I had COVID, it turned into Pneumonia, then into a bizarre type of Strep. Was on 3 different antibiotics for weeks. After all of that, my inflammation was still off the charts and my Ige levels were astronomical. Still not completely past Long COVID.

Stop the nonsense. The 2024 payroll sits at 200M without arb. figures, which will put us right up to the 237M luxury tax, without adding a player. 50M of that will go to pay Max, JV and McCann. The trades left 2 holes in the pitching staff, OF and we need a new BP.

I totally agree! 12 (Cecchini and plawecki) and ‘13 (D. Smith) didn’t pan out either. If you compare our 1st round picks with say the Dodgers, (who had lower picks) from 2012 until now, you’ll see the vast difference in success. Kudos to Stearns.

We don’t. Last year, we had poor offensive production from 3B, LF, RF and DH or almost 1/2 the batting order. Offensively, Stearns’s “upgrades” have been marginal, if at all.
Pitching-wise, there haven’t been any upgrades at all. It’s gonna be a looong season.

Did I suggest all players? Mauricio is in no way as valuable as Alvarez. Add to that, Mauricio has to get as many reps at 2nd and 3rd as possible to be ready for this year. They bounced him around 4 positions last year at AAA.

A hard no YY @ 30mill a year for guy who’s never thrown a pitch in the Majors. We have too many holes in the rotation, BP and every day lineup to drop 200M on a guy who’s only going to pitch every 6th day. This team needs length and depth.

RISP might’ve improved if we added better hitters, so far we haven’t.
The SP’s added are 5 inning guys at best, the BP is still a disaster

I had long COVID. I took ZERO shots. The symptoms differ is because COVID sets off a Cytokine storm, causing a a variety of severe inflammatory responses. I’m no doctor, but since I had it, I did the research. There’s no cure, just treat the symptoms until it passes.

Wow. You are a gem! In NY, my PCP of 10 years, literally locked their doors! Went to urgent care, who said “go home or the hospital, up to you”. Hospital had no monoclonals. I barely survived. Moved to Florida. Friends down here had no issues with getting help or medication.

As a Mets fan, I recall this well . There was a rumor he’d sign with us for a discount, but it fell through. Phillips said. they didn’t sign him because of special perks he wanted in the contract, that made it look like he was above his teammates. But who really knows?

That ship has sailed. He payed 46 game at winter ball last year, then went to spring training, then played 116 minor league games, then 26 in the majors. That’s over 188 games in under 12 months, before this winter league. Great work ethic!

My 2 cents…chemistry’s overrated. The ‘86 team had guys who wanted kill each other. When teams lose there’s finger pointing. Blame Pete for them losing? Lol Expecting Escobar, Canha, Ruf, Vogel., Nido to produce was a joke. If they had 1/2 his production we’d be 10 games over.
