What Am I Doing Here? There’s a million things to talk about on this platform. I could have made my focus here professional or music. Instead when I (re)joined I somewhat naively honed in exclusively on my Jewish Identity as a Catholic convert. Certainly being unique has an edge to it as there’s little competition. Although my lane is so narrow there is also limited interest. I don’t represent any organizations (although I feel totally aligned with the Association of Hebrew Catholics). I’m just out here advocating for myself and a real identity, history, nation and culture in the hopes of finding others who relate, as well as allies. I find Catholic discourse on this site weighted heavily to the theological, apologetical, ecclesial and dogmatic. I’m actually much more interested in the cultural. I only wish to be a simple, obedient, orthodox lay Catholic. Online may not really the place for that docile aspiration. Because Jewish Catholics are ostensibly rare I feel I need to be a beachhead here to attract and connect to build up what I feel is potentially a vital sub-Catholic community with much to offer the Church, the Jews and the world.
