@JoustWave @richjmatt26 Yeah, idk, my answered prayer came in the form of merely an idea that made the concept of God seem possible and not unreasonable. But ultimately, no miracle happened. Just inspiration. And then philosophy.

@richjmatt26 @JoustWave Incidentally, it was precisely Matthew 7:7–8 that started me on my journey away from atheism. I asked. Somehow, I got the answer when pondering the Second Law of Thermodynamics. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

@GnilichenkoBBoy @JosephSciambra This is especially true when speaking of children, who are extremely vulnerable in this regard.

@t0lkien @trad_west_ He also insists on the authority of the Catholic episcopacy and believes in the primacy of the Church in Rome. Why believe Protestant misinterpations of Scripture, already condemned as false 2000 years ago by those who knew the Apostles who actually wrote the Scriptures?

@ATradCatholic It's like in the first millennium, the Eastern Church (then universally Catholic) also endured a period of iconoclasm. And by God's grace, the beauty of its art and liturgy are still with us today. One day, iconoclasm will be a mere historical footnote in the Western church too.

@ATradCatholic Oh, yes, of course. But that's why I understand why the Council has such a bad reputation among the rad trads, sedes and the crazies. Terrible things were done in its name.

@ATradCatholic kept them hidden in their shed before giving them back to the church when the crazies had left around the turn of the millennium. For some people around that time it really was so much worse than even the worst stuff that you and I have probably had to put up with.

@t0lkien @trad_west_ How about read some history beginning at Jesus Christ? Maybe some early Christians, who most definitely did not support the doctrines of the Reformation. Maybe a bit of St Ignatius of Antioch, a disciple John the Apostle. Or St Irenaeus. You're welcome.

@JasonPaulJohn Because Jews are culturally too European. Therefore, they're oppressors and deserve everything they get, because the political paradigm demands it.
