My dad is 102 and remembers 1930s Britain. He was harrassed by Mosleyites. Antisemitism was rife but so were popular Jewish comedians like Issy Bonn (My Yiddishe Moma) and Chesney Allen. He felt the majority were on the right side. He thinks things are worse in Britain now.

There's more outpouring of grief from journalists about Newsnight than there was about 7 October massacre.
Gutted to hear about the gutting of #newsnight. Its power was always the combination of strong films with robust interviews often around an Off Broadway take. I had the privilege of working for it while a BBC foreign correspondent. It was once considered the gold standard.
