I was in a hiring position for a non-profit. I can't tell you the number of times extremely qualified people, when told the position salary, would tell me they couldn't afford to work for that because of child care costs.
This stat is SO TELLING:
In more than half of states, child care for an infant in a child care center costs MORE than in-state college tuition.
