Christianity exists in tension and where people typically fall into heterodox or heretical views is when they abandon that tension for one side or the other.

Luther gets too much credit for the Reformation. Really it wasn't about one Reformation, it was multiple Reformations. Luther in Germany. Zwingli in Switzerland. Calvin in Geneva. Knox in Scotland. And ALL of them were flawed and fallible men.
