Before the pandemic, it wasn't just commonplace to wear surgical masks in these units, it was commonplace to even wear duckbill respirators. I did a 'hero visit' at a children's hospital ten entire years ago where they had all visitors near immunocompromised patients wear N95s.

We also need to talk more about how the world suddenly opened up to a lot of disabled people. Many things were made completely accessible online. My life became very full because I was able to attend workshops, events, and even take classes from home. Inaccessibility is a choice.
