@markrwilliamson Good! No issue with a Busway as such but the proposed route is unspeakably bad in so many ways.

@HawthornRidgeCA On the Argylls’ Memorial is a Gaelic inscription which translates as “It is good to have friends on the day of battle”.

@HawthornRidgeCA With the memorial to the 8th Argylls in the distance. My grandfather and his 2 younger brothers served with them in WW1 - the 2 younger brothers, my great uncles, lie still in France.

@Scott_Wortley But the Presiding Officer has the power to permit! It’s not a criminal matter, where discussion may affect the decision of a jury.

@LyonCourt I trust Lyon read the original (Latin) version? Or, perhaps, in deference to those not Classicists, he read the translation.

@markrwilliamson Costisimportabt, but more important is an honest cost/benefit analysis! And how much of the benefit will flow to the Government if it pays the cost? HS2 has been hugely cut back because of that issue.

@S_M_R_G Is there a similar history for the 8th Argylls in WW1? (Or one which includes them for that period.) Grandfather and his 2 younger brothers all served with the 8th in WW1.

@loreldridge Came into force on 1 Jan 1926 so not quite 100 yet! The experienced & learned Managing Clerk who trained me in conveyancing in 1971 had started at the firm on that day. He had been made to learn all the 1925 property legislation & was specially expert in Settled Land Act 1925.

@acambridgediary My late Dad, who was at Pembroke in the 1930s said that Pembroke men (no women then) referred to the part on that side as “the River Pem”.
