Interesting from the @BNArchive showing that in some cases so many civil servants were evacuated from London that some of the big shops started opening branch stores in the places where they had been evacuated to. @TanjaBueltmann

LRT that’s both @lewis_goodall on #Newsnight & @PaulBrandITV for ITN going after housing in a very big way - and @grenfellinquiry is still yet to publish. And evidence so far (see @gillkernick @PeteApps ) has already been damning. Tories hugely exposed with developers’ donations

Talking of which, some young poet called Michael Rosen appeared on telly half a century ago - and also here again a decade later in the mid-1980s. Anyone know what happened to him? @MichaelRosenYes 🙂 @WOMADfestival

@TerryReintke Please remember to leave a light on for us so we can find our way back :-) (In the meantime, EU citizens can still vote in the U.K. local council elections in 2021 )

Worth noting once @GaryLineker stood his ground, one of if not the first high profile #motd figure to go public & stand by him - at ***huge*** professional / financial risk (BBC could easily have stopped commissioning him) was @IanWright0 - took huge courage to do this.

Everybody knows what Match of the Day means to me, but I’ve told the BBC I won’t be doing it tomorrow. Solidarity.

There's been a lot of focus these last few weeks on MPs' second jobs. Tonight I have a special report on Newsnight on another part of the standards system which has received less attention but which some believe really needs reform: corporate hospitality for MPs.

@TerryReintke I hope students & young people in the U.K. absolutely destroy the Conservatives at the ballot box over this. There are *lots* of local elections in England in May 2021 that EU citizens can vote in —> Register to vote in the U.K.

- BBC Current Affairs having an absolute shocker (again). @TheGreenParty gained more MPs *and* more votes at the 2019 #GeneralElection , and have over 800 councillors to only a couple for TeamNigel.

This is absolutely ridiculous and shows a very clear breach of impartiality. Why is a political party with 0 members and 2 councillors getting a leader profile when one with nearly coming on 70,000 members and over 800 councillors is not? Please do complain.
