I think we are forgetting what teens are like at that age.
Life becomes awful when you hit 13. You start having growing pains physically, emotionally and mentally. Add to that their parents, teachers and elders in their social circle start imposing societal, gender norms on them
What younger people who bash “older” fans fail to realize is that having an online fan account isn’t this big new thing. We did it years ago on message boards & blog sites that just don’t exist anymore. Fandom has adapted & grown over time. So have the fans who engage in it.

I find this argument especially hard to believe.
I grew up speaking in English at a very young age. Since I wasn't speaking much that time, my speech therapist suggested that I learn English rather than Urdu, so I can start speaking at some capacity. T
English is shoved on so many people as a global language. But when artists choose to sing in English, they're accused of neglecting their culture. But when they sing in Japanese, not a peep. Being multilingual is an asset, especially today. Get over it. And used to it.
