The Welsh word word “dileu”, which means “erase”, is pronounced exactly like the English word “delay”. My Welsh brain is always disappointed when I hear “delay Brexit” on an English-language programme.
Dear everyone in Wales who’s watching the debate between the Conservative leadership contenders and who still don’t think that Wales should be an independent republic,
Seriously now.

Autumn in Welsh is ‘hydref’. ‘Hydd’ is stag. ‘Bref’ is bellow. Hydref is the season when stags bellow - rutting season! (Diolch i

The Finnish name for the northern lights “revontulet” is associated with the arctic fox. According to a folk tale, an arctic fox is running far in the north and touching the mountains with its fur, so that sparks fly off into the sky as the northern lights.
The problem with this

The Welsh for bradawl is “mynawyd”. And the Welsh for geranium is “mynawyd y bugail”, the sheperd’s bradawl. Don’t ask me, I’m just telling you...

Good point, but local shops should sell local products. Devon M&S stores should sell Devon cheeses as well as other cheeses. It helps the local economy and the environment. Pob dymuniad da.

The Welsh vowels are aeiouwy. There are five vowels in “anwybodus” (ignorant), three in “rhagfarnllyd” (prejudiced) and three in “haliwr” (tosser). And, most sadly for a cartoonist, two in “diflas” (boring).
@RobGMacfarlane
Welsh for calm weather is “arafin”, slow weather. There’s a famous cynghanedd (alliterative verse) couplet “Gwelais long ar y glas li / yn y gwyll yn ymgolli” - I saw a ship on the blue sea, into the twilight leaving. (Remember that w and y are vowels).

Please keep your answer to this simple... Why not just stop producing, furlough the workers and wait, just like every other industry is doing? Why is oil so different? Diolch yn fawr / Thank you.
Michael Fabricant asks Alun Cairns about giving the Prince of Wales' regalia a home in Wales, perhaps at Caernarfon Castle or the National Library in Aberystwyth. "The question on Welsh people's lips is not Brexit, it's the Royal Regalia," he says.

Not exactly on theme but “boreubryd hwyaden” - a duck’s breakfast - is the small amount of food a Welshman can grab before going to work because he’s late because he’s been too busy enjoying himself with his wife.

No one uses the word “impenetrable”. No Welsh speaker would describe Welsh as being divisive; on the contrary. “Saesneg” means “the English language” not “the English people”. Basically
