Absolutely awful news. We are already suffering from a post-Brexit lack of archaeologists. How can we train the next generation when yet another department closes? Yes it's expensive to train us, but gosh what a lot the country gets for its money.
In absolute shock over hearing the news that
@worcester_uni
has taken the decision today to close the archaeology department.
Staff now face redundancy over the coming months.
I had the best few years studying there, as did many others.

I was lucky enough to go to the opening of the stunning

exhibition at
@SouthendMuseums
last night & see the grave-goods all together. The work of the original craftsmen is amazing but the modern conservation work is also exceptional.

is a fascinating place!

featuring the incredible objects found inside the chamber, and exploring the new insights they give into the Kingdom of the East Saxons.

And if we want to solve the housing crisis, simply increasing supply of new privately owned houses won't work - we already have a surplus of this. What's needed is to convert some to social housing so people can actually afford to live in it.
