Oh I’m so sorry everyone - I forgot to take a ohoto of the birthday boy today. I promise I will remedy this. We had a wonderful time with his children and grandchildren - and I will now post a picture of the cake his daughter made
@HowardsForever
Wow ! Howard’s Way trending in 2023. Not bad for a series that began in 1985 eh? Thanks to all the fans that have followed this repeat so loyally and to
@dramachannel
for showing it .
Darling Maurice - he was the sweetest gentlest man with a penchant for poker. Happy memories of five years spent working together. RIP. My love to Jeannie and Clara.x
Watching Carols from Kings College Cambridge - part of my Christmas Eve ritual. Wishing all you lovelies out there peace, health and happiness in these strange times. Much love from Mr Y and me x
Mr Y is overwhelmed by all the birthday wishes and says having spent a considerable time with Marc Bolam and George Best, he’s amazed he’s still on this planet. Thanks everybody x
I overheard this sad remark yesterday. Two little girls were heading home from their last day of term in primary school
“Am I allowed to hold your hand?” Life in the time of Covid

But more importantly Karen Hartley Thomas who began her career as Make up Designer on Howards’ Way is nominated for an Oscar in this year’s awards for her work on Golda. Always a star even back in the eighties! Xxx
Just listened to Sarah Phelps on the AlwaysThere podcast. Absolutely brilliant - the perfect antidote to lockdown. Listen up folks - it’s a must!

Cornish Pirates and Truro City owner Dicky and Jytte Evans were delighted to catch up with fellow sports enthusiasts and stadium supporters, commentator John Inverdale and actress Jan Harvey, at Wimbledon yesterday
To all the lovely people out there, I wish you all a very happy Christmas and a scrumptious New Year. Please put a hand out to anyone lonely or in need x
Just caught up with
@JNRaeside
& Katherine Jakeways on the Always There Podcast. Quite clearly Mr Y is not safe out on his own! He will be thrilled to hear that he is still adored - thank you Ladies
Heartbroken that Clive James has finally shuffled off his mortal coil. The funniest, cleverest, most generous of his generation. His poems, songs, novels and papers live on - thanks for everything, Clive.
Putting it there that Ken Masters is one of British TV’s all time best characters and deserves far more more recognition. Not open to arguments just my opinion

No - the decision to bring it to end was because Gerry Glaister had developed Trainer as his next big hit and the death of Maurice Colbourne rather hastened everything. Sadly Trainer was not a success.
Thanks to all who followed this rerun of the series. Loved the extremely funny comments and also the very informed and discerning points made too. Howards’ Way lives on .....
Just indulged in a podfest of episodes 4&5 of
@AlwaysTherePod
. Laughed loads and really enjoyed going down Howards’ Way again. Thanks Julia and Crew x
Have just listened to the Howards’ Way podcast “Always There” which I absolutely loved. It’s really entertaining and insightful. Contemplation Copse gets my vote!
Got finger ache last night swapping channels between the men’s tennis and the cricket. Both of which came to extraordinary finales at exactly the same time. Exhausted now
I'm told there's a story in The Oldie about Jan
@Harvey4Jan
hiding a copy of the script in her knickers under the quilt whilst filming a bedroom scene... (nothing to do with
#HowardsWay
, obviously...)
Just listened to Series 2 Ep 11 on my
@AlwaysTherePod
and LOVED it. Three ladies having the best of times together, being very funny and very naughty - just as I like it!
