The second issue of the
#HowardsWay
cast cards was printed on commercial presses - unlike the first issue which was printed using the (nowadays antiquated) method from photo negatives on Kodak photographic paper. The new title was white - plus the apostrophe.

Maurice died suddenly of a heart attack whilst renovating his holiday cottage in Dinan, Brittany, northwest France.
His tragic demise changed the course of Howards' Way, a well-liked drama series at the height of its popularity.
Maurice Colbourne (24 September 1939 – 4 August 1989).
Today marks the passing of Maurice Colbourne, who played the character of Tom in 61 episodes of Howards' Way.

The Jolly Sailor in Bursledon has been a pub since 1845, although the building, situated on the River Hamble, dates back to the eighteenth century. It is accessible either by steep steps or by boat. It also featured in the 1980s TV show Howards’ Way.

Poor Lynne Howard was widowed early in her life after "Clod" was mauled by a speedboat in the busy shipping lanes of the Solent. She departed to mourn away from Tarrant and, on return, fell right back into the arms of her first beau, the inscrutable Charles Frere.

Resentful Ken Masters didn't end with anyone but never gave up hoping to win Jan Howard. With the unfortunate Tom out of the picture and Jan's latest squeeze Robert Hastings a bit wishy-washy - could Ken still stand a chance?

Jan Howard's mother, Gran Kate Harvey is one of the less complicated characters, always cheerful and dishing out helpful advice to anyone in need of moral support. She ends up marrying a retired admiral who happens to be, like her, also widowed. How lucky for some.

Gerald and Polly Urquhart ended apart. He was a gentleman, she was a bitch and a maneater. Contrary to appearances, her daughter Abby did NOT inherit her character traits - as it would have been clarified in the never-produced continuation of the series.

. He is trapped between being totally ruthless and trying - and failing - to be less ruthless than his ruthless father. His reunion with Lynne in S6 may be seen as either hope for a change - or more trouble.

Sir Edward Frere is an interesting example of a "rags to riches" man whose irascibility and vindictiveness conceal insecurity and distrust. When Jan wisely rejects his advances, he enters into a loveless marriage with Polly - but why? It remains a mystery.
