Yes but also no. In terms of skyscrapers and cars yes. But Chicago is full of gorgeous architecture and is in a class nearly by itself for large American city architecture. Haven’t been to NYC but that’s probably the only one in the same ballpark as Chicago.

Woke up early this morning to catch the sunrise. I don’t want to say how beautiful Minneapolis is because that iron range rocks and cows guy hates the city. So I’ll just say I enjoyed having coffee and breakfast while watching the sunrise.
Took my wife’s 029 to the wood pile today. I don’t wanna say i was working outdoors in a t-shirt as it was only 49 degrees and that weird Reed guy from Minneapolis hates masculinity… so I’ll just say i enjoyed cutting firewood with an old chainsaw that my dad gave to my wife

I don’t necessarily disagree. I walk to work but only because I have the luxury of proximity. I also live walking distance to a Target and grocery store. Do most of my errands on foot. Unless, to your point, it’s a large purchase. Then, to the OPs point, I plan around driving.

Speaking as a downtown resident with a modest corporate income who also works downtown, Minneapolis is plenty safe. Sure there are areas I might avoid but those areas don’t represent the entire city. The Minneapolis fear mongering is pathetic. It’s really not that bad.

Once again here to remind folks that downtown actually has one of the lower crime rates in the city. Yes there are “bad areas” in Minneapolis. Downtown isn’t necessarily one of them. So this lame and tired argument is weak, at best. It’s more political narrative than reality.
