The "338 elections" line is so tired. All of the elections are held at the same time. The leaders' debates are always more important than local riding debates in influencing voters. People say dumb stuff like "a vote for Singh is a vote for O'Toole." MPs are whipped.

But often these people's arguments amount to demonizing the new residents. As in this case where their homes are contrasted with ones for "real" families.

I think everyone who spent the campaign period shaming voters into voting "strategically" instead of trying to inspire them to vote *for* something should reflect on the role they played in this record low turnout.
This is a new nadir . Turnout of less than 40% . Clearly the progressive majority had better things to do. Suggest federal progressives start working on a brand new playbook and keep the current agreement in place till they have some idea how to deal with this . You are losing .
