@kelvmackenzie All over the place big chains are buying out the smaller independent vets for huge money then dumping the costs on to customers. Even worse is that they sign deals with pharma companies which limit what vets can use to treat animals even when alternatives would be better.

@labourlewis Tax was already paid on that wealth. Most of it started off as a muddy field near Westminster where a few goats were kept to provide milk for an elderly woman. If people decided to come and build on it years later he and his ancestors don't suddenly owe you money.

@doctor_oxford The original reason for lockdowns was to "flatten the curve" to allow the NHS time to build up facilities. Not long after it turned out that all but one of the Nightingale hospitals were unused, and that lockdowns had negligible effect on the overall infection numbers.

@Nigel_Farage Ireland was so delighted to punish the UK for a democratic vote they forgot how it would rebound on them. E.g. delays for Dover-Calais cross channel ferries affect Irish lorries too and Ireland-France ferry is more expensive (otherwise all lorries would use it).

@DavidBlakeman13 I'd argue that it doesn't matter whether it's Mars or anything else. Summers are definitely hotter now on average than they were and if we want to avoid forest fires and crops wilting in the fields then we need to do something about, or at least reduce our impact.
