Think about it. One hundred MiG-29s & MiG-29Ks powered by Kaveri.
Rafale was initially fitted with F-404 and then replaced by M-88. Many good reasons for Kaveri to be equipped on a twin engine aircraft, immediately. A surrogate flight-test bed like MiG-29 could be perfect. The time for Kaveri is now, or never.

Navy's MiG-29K is undergoing full upgrade of weapons, avionics & sensors. i.e. All sensors, radar, IRST, EW etc. All weapons, BVR, CCM, ASMs, Cruise missiles etc.
Not minor upgrades. Almost every mission system. No difference from Su-30MKI upgrade of IAF.

TEDBF will not immediately replace MiG29K but gradually in 2040’s. There is no major upgrade plan for MiG29K, only minor upgrades whenever new equipments are available.
