The US still has an impending US$100 million worth of Foreign Military Financing (FMF) grant for the Philippine Air Force for the acquisition of helicopters to replace the failed deal with Russia to procure Mil Mi-171 Hip helicopters. The Philippines has yet to use this grant.

The Philippine Air Force has dropped the TAI T129B ATAK attack helicopter as its choice due to Turkey's inability to confirm their ability to import engines and avionics from the US and UK.
The PAF TWG has selected an American helicopter to replace it.
