WATCH: Marawi Compensation Board chairperson Maisara Dandamun-Latiph on Monday (Feb. 10, 2025) says the body targets to process up to 3,000 compensation claims this year. Under Republic Act 11696, the MCB is tasked with facilitating the tax-free payment of reparations to “qualified claimants” who lost residential and commercial properties in the 2017 Marawi siege. Dandamun-Latiph: This year, nagta-target tayo ng 2,000 to 3,000 claimants. As of 2028, dapat tapos na namin lahat. If we're targeting 3,000 a year, we'll be able to finish at that time. | Video courtesy of PTV

HAPPENING NOW: @laborgovph Sec. Bienvenido Laguesma, @DA_PCAF Sec. Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., and NEDA Undersecretary Rosemarie Edillon hold a Palace press briefing on Monday (Feb. 10, 2025). Usec. The country’s unemployment rate went down to 3.1% in Dec 2024, bringing the full-year data to 3.8%, the lowest since 2005. Laguesma, citing data from DTI, says 200,000 jobs were created in the 201 investments secured by PBBM in his foreign trips. Sec. WATCH: @DA_PCAF Sec. Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., in a Palace briefing Monday (Feb. 10, 2025), says he is now looking into reports of alleged profiteering amid a surge in pork prices. He adds a maximum suggested retail price (MSRP) for pork would be implemented once it is confirmed that there is profiteering involved behind high prices of pork. Tiu Laurel: Ang farmgate ngayon is P240-P250 bakit may presyo na P380-P420. If we have identified na may profiteering 'yan, then definitely we'll be doing an MSRP also for pork.

WATCH: @laborgovph Sec. Bienvenido Laguesma, in a Palace briefing Monday (Feb. 10, 2025), says the Marcos administration is sparing no effort in ensuring that Filipinos get decent and sustainable jobs, regardless of the current political developments. The Philippine Statistics Authority earlier reported that the country's unemployment rate further went down to 3.1 percent in December last year, bringing the full-year 2024 data to 3.8 percent, the lowest recorded since 2005. Laguesma: The present administration is not banking or relying solely on political exercises.
