@EmathsUK Or how about we don’t try this as we don’t know the forward and backwards digit spans of the students to begin, so a student who may not have remembered the digits anyway then thinks they aren’t fluent.

@MathsPhysLove @MrDCowling @mathsjem @StudyMaths @hkettlemaths Actually looking at this again, maybe AQA doesn’t use the command work calculate. It’s not on their command word list.

@MrDCowling @mathsjem @StudyMaths @hkettlemaths AQA has some language specific aspects. But I think will more readily accept a broader range of mathematical methods

@StudyMaths There where three prompts along with a picture I used to use as to what do you think notice and wonder. They had to be maths related answers but wonder can setup early conjecturing in a non threatening way.

@helenjwc @MathsCirclesOz @EChildhoodMaths @UniOfSurrey I know your sometimes reluctant to comment on secondary, but wondering what your thoughts would be on considering x squared as something as having 2 dimensions, x cubed 3 dimensions, xyz 3 dimensions etc and if this is within spatial reasoning when making this connection.
