Back to school today (broke up Dec 15th). We’re having a Wellbeing Day: a menu of yoga, art, crafts, pilates, reading, walks in the local area, access to the local gym, pitch & putt- even a talk about the menopause. Feeling very blessed to work in a school that prioritises this.

I’ll have made 30 GCSE Homework Papers soon. I have used exam content from 2018-2021 but haven’t used anything more recent. I always use the most recent (secure) paper for mocks so at this point, 2022 feels safe. If I make more, do Maths teachers feel happy for me to use 2022?

This would score full marks. If a student is going on to do A-Level Maths, I would absolutely be looking at line by line. But these questions are often on Foundation and students fumble at knowing how to label angles and end up missing reasons.

Frequency polygons normally look like shark fins. Polly the shark lives in the middle of the ocean (middle of the category) and absolutely should not be connected to the shore (to the origin). It’s all very silly but does the trick for remembering how to draw them!

Yes, half a past paper split by evens and odds so they increase in difficulty as per a whole paper. So far I’ve used Jun18, Jun19 and Nov20. Will be steering well clear of 22 and 23 until we’re past mock season!

For Year 11, we set Sparx and also the half past paper. The half past papers they are responsible for completing and green penning themselves. They submit to us for checking.
