This is what so many people fail to understand. The presence of a weapon in the household statistically makes you less safe, not more safe. A significant portion of gun deaths and injuries are accidental. I think a safety course and test should be required. Like driving.

My mom has 3. One is missing 2 vertebrae and needs to be in a neckbrace so we have to be careful w/her. She smiles when I go over. The long-haired ones tend to be attached mostly to my mom and I. The 3rd is super sweet to all people. He runs in circles because he gets so excited.
