1. Most important thing out of the way is the whitewashing. Doom is a Romani character and that’s insanely important for his backstory of oppression, and considering Romani representation is already something marvel has messed up a lot, it sucks to see that continued.
2. Doom keeps his mask on at all times. The only reason I’ve seen for this being cool is because the avengers would have to fight someone that looks like a friend. This is irrelevant for a character whose face can’t be seen.
If they were to change doom not wearing his mask, you sacrifice an actual compelling aspect of his character. He sacrificed his whole face over a blemish. It’s a physical representation of the way Victor views anything short of perfection as flawed.
3. Doom has more history with the fantastic four. Doom’s relationship with the four is what separates him from regular villains. Hes not a villain because he’s evil, he hates Reed Richards and by extension the four. Making him a general villain runs the risk of making him generic
Wendell Pierce breaks the silence on playing Perry White in James Gunn’s ‘SUPERMAN:’
"I never grew up reading comics, so I relied on my friends to tell me about it. I'm excited about this, you know."

I’m not worried about who gets cast as Superman in Superman legacy, because Superman castings are always goated (except one guy who I’ll just keep pretending doesn’t exist)
4. The Russos are directing. I make it no secret I think they’re not great, and many would point to Thanos as them handling a morally grey villain. But Thanos was morally grey for exactly one villain before they made him a generic villain who wanted to kill everyone just cuz.
5. Making doom a variant of tony stark undoes the intersting nuances of both characters. Iron man is a morally questionable hero and doom is a villain with a strict moral compass. Combing them just makes a generic villain.
Oh yeah one more thing. Looking to the past to find their next big thing is not going to make a movie that stands out. Every single time that happens it’s only fun for a fan service heavy movie in theaters but doesn’t stand the test of time. Doom deserves better than that.
And to tie it all together all of this could’ve been avoided if they just did superior iron man since that already exists and it does this stuff in a way that works. What they’re doing isn’t doom it’s him.
@SteelSandRun
Megamind is unironically one of the greatest superhero movies. More heartfelt story than most cbms rn and it was a good shakeup on the genre.

I know these videos have been on tik tok for a while I mean that in the past it’s been way more popular to shit on him there. It’s nice to see Superman praise get 300k likes.I mean get it as in they finally understand he’s the goat.
I think what makes the trinity so great is that they contradict themselves in the best way possible.
Wonder Woman is trained like a warrior but chooses to be a pacifist
Superman is an all powerful being who stays good
Batman is a billionaire playboy who helps the little guy.
James needs to get it right. My dad died when I was 7, so the man who raised me through my childhood was my stepdad. It’s important to get this right for all the adopted kids in the world, or kids in situations like mine.
I’m also going to use this tweet to say so many people look at adopted parents and step parents like they aren’t the kids real parents, but for both the kid and parent that relationship can be, and often times is, just as real as biological parents.
Obviously not exactly like yondu and quill, the relationships should be different. But it shows he knows how to write adopted parents in a way that shows that they aren’t lesser than biological parents.
@firstkindle3875
Yeah, I mean tik tok users are finally starting to get the point of Superman. The popular Superman videos in the past on tik tok were all clowning on him now videos about how cool he is are getting 300k likes

“This is the final suit”
“This is just a cgi suit”
Have we considered that maybe, just maybe, this is a suit that this engineer wears under her engineer suit so she doesn’t become butt ass naked in a pg13 movie when the suit comes off?

Plus it’s not reclaiming if you still use it in a negative connotation when you take it back. That just feeds into the harmful nature of words like that.
@ThatBmanGuy
This show and autism speaks are just neurotypicals jacking each other off at the idea of helping autistic people while actively harming autistic people
No joke having a highly acclaimed and very accessible Superman comic be sold in a super accessible way right before a Superman movie both following a very popular animated series is the biggest comeback any character has ever had.
Dc has announced a 2nd wave for their Compact Comics line releasing in 2025

-June 3, 2025: DCeased by Tom Taylor, Trevor
@PenisShits
Yeah but look at the likes. I’ve seen videos like this, but they never get that many likes because the consensus on there is mostly “Superman lame”
@woodgrainbeanie
It’s not for everyone! I found myself enjoying it a lot more as time goes on. When ZSJL came out, I revisited his old stuff, and I had a new appreciation for it.
@Parzival_jay
The fact that on top of whitewashing him they were too lazy to find someone new. The disrespect to erase a character’s culture just to recycle what they did 5 years ago.
@elisiumlol12
@ShereKhansAgent
Tbf Bruce Wayne is more like Mark Cuban, Elon Musk, or Mark Zuckerberg in universe because he’s a celebrity and a billionaire. But I get your point. Most other billionaire superheroes besides like tony stark would get a “who?” reaction.

@Smv_of_Heroes
Idk, Jack Kirby made peak for both cosmic marvel and cosmic dc. Marvel might be a little better, but neither are bad at all.
This kinda BS commentary is EXACTLY why representation matters. In his Mister Terrific role, Edi Gathegi literally just wears his hair as he always does & his mini fro is judged w/ a radical political meaning (that somehow diminishes his sexiness/cool).😒
