@goldstone_tony @DHSCgovuk phoned to check that they have the correct address etc (they didn’t once). Reply almost definitely before January. Likely in the next month. I asked about if it was Dec or Jan how I would be able to do my tax return in time given the complexity. They said I could complain.

@MsPottingShed @DrLindaDykes sounds like a difficult decision 4 you. I’m sure you made the right one for your mum. Sharing & discussing is important. common mistake seen is relatives being asked what they want. Which is unfair and not correct. It should be “what do you think your mum/dad would want?”

@DrLindaDykes ..they say “take me into hospital and have treatment” or would they say “leave me in my care setting and give me treatment there/keep me comfortable”. The answer is nearly always the latter. We absolutely need to train our teams better.

@rwbrownhill @goldstone_tony @jamesmurray_ldn @wesstreeting Makes no difference. I would have to reduce PAs and do less work. This is why it makes absolutely no sense at all. Most consultants of over 15y on more than 11PA are in the same position. Or anyone who does any private work. No incentive to do additional NHS work.

@rwbrownhill @goldstone_tony @jamesmurray_ldn @wesstreeting AA is a tax cliff you go over u can pay more tax than u earn so no incentive to do it. As cons doing manage. role means that reducing hours &/or stop management role would make better off & declining extra hours to cover sickness/rotation gaps to help. Opposite of what nhs needs

Should we be Preconditioning the nation by teaching and practicing falls prevention and getting up from the floor every day? So a fall or long lie doesn’t happen. Hip # prevention etc

@EM_Dr_Jacklin There is a significant risk of many unwarranted LPs being done on many of the ? Meningitis patients referred to hospital. A time and resource consulting unpleasant procedure for the patient. I’m fully with stopping the “I need a CT first” cry for those that warrant an LP.
