This is a project I've been hashing out for some time. I've taken the canon made for my E93 project and structuring it like a season of TV. I'll be using the O5 as leads and primarily focusing on the 60's-70's canon for adaptation.

), of a younger, pre-blue Hank with Richardson as my reference last year 😄
It's been a minute since this fancast has been discussed, but I think Sam could still totally pull it off. He's got the chops to play Hank as either a quiet or bombastic eccentric, and he's got enough youthful enthusiasm in his voice to play Hank younger or his actual age.

I also remember how there was one book where an ongoing subplot was whether Ron's older brother's fiancé was flighty. She stuck by him even when he got disfigured, but she had so little of a personality I think we were meant to believe she could in fact leave him.

Personally, I read Scott's past and experiences as something closer to ableism, be it physical disability or being on the spectrum. I'd like to believe the fanbase has moved on from making the metaphor a 1:1 for racism with a nearly all-white cast.

While Logan has very understandable reasons to feel so jaded, I hope at some point it's said by someone that mutants and the X-Men did nothing wrong.
Krakoa didn't fall because of their hubris, but because the militarized bigots stormed their land and took over the narrative.

Where did this belief come from that X-Stans are jealous of the Avengers' mainstream popularity? We were having fun in our little circle, which is presently being ruined *through* a push for mainstream appeal. No one I know wanted X-Men to become a giant MCU franchise.

CW2 might have been horrible, but it was riding the coattails of the biggest movie of that year. So I at least understand the motivation to synergize. '97 has had pitiful promotion/marketing, yet they're still upending the entire X-Men line anyways.

I love that this is being highlighted. Even outside of the burdens of war and leadership, Ororo's stable of confidantes has been dwindling. People she once called family have been dying, becoming strangers, or outright enemies. She's been hurting for some time now.

It was thanks to Xavier and the X-Men that Logan was given the environment and support system to thrive past the fight or flight survival he lived through for decades. He should have been the biggest advocate and defender of a stable mutant sanctuary.

I was saying this to a friend the other night: Ideally, Logan would have had a similar outlook to Krakoa as Emma. Initially skeptical, openly objecting to those put in charge, but fundamentally recognizes the value and utility in a mutant sanctuary and tirelessly protects it.

It is telling how, despite being sold as a fresh start for all mutants, Krakoa's official governance was made up of prior mutant figureheads, all of whom brought their baggage and bias into things and who almost immediately formed in-groups rather than attempt true collaboration

This is actually why, while I love Spectacular as much as the next guy, I refrain from calling it a "definitive" take on Spidey because they largely sanded off his edges. I like the arc that Peter was a genuinely nasty person who learned through toil and effort to become better.

The one caveat I'll give to moments like this is that I would wish the role of non-mutant skeptic/objector didn't feel so random. While she's never been an outspoken mutant ally or anything, I still wouldn't say Jen would be the type to stick her nose up to Logan like this.

With that in mind, what I really hope Exceptional will do is meditate on how a lot of what sunk Krakoa was this select group of people assuming power and rank and just constantly fumbling it. I mean, we got Kate + Emma with a group of young mutants. It's too perfect of a dynamic.

Years back, I commissioned a Thor design that I'm still pretty proud of, though I've long since disowned the original artist and never got around to doing a revision. If I ever did, I would totally try and work in the fur trim for the cape.
