re: USAID I do not think American Christians realize how perverse our international influence has become. The pastor of the largest church in Chile spoke at Lakepointe en Español last year. He explained that despite having a deeply traditional view of gender / family, they had begun aggressively teaching LGBT ideology in Chilean public schools... to the horror of Chilean parents. Why? Because Chile feared losing USAID if they didn't. I didn't understand what he meant until this week.

@JedHalv @Jaime_E_Owens I agree with you there - nothing explicit in NT. I think the argument is implicit in the OT… That being said, I think this argument would suggest something like term limits for elders - not absolutely command it. Likewise! Grace and peace to you.

@JedHalv @Jaime_E_Owens To an extent, yes. But God called all of Israel a “kingdom of priests and holy nation” in Ex. 19.:6. Nevertheless, there are still priests in Israel, tho all Israel was “priestly.” You see a special designation of leaders within the camp. I’d argue something similar in NT.

@JedHalv @Jaime_E_Owens Reading Leviticus, priests do many things in the OT pastors are to do in NT. Pray for people, teach people, be examples to the people, etc.
