@Snefer @NoMore404s @NeonGiantGames @AscentTheGame Have you given any recent tech talks, esp in relation to UE5? Would love to hear your thoughts on new strategies compared to previous gen engines

@raffi_hotter Ayup, signal scattering and dipole orientation are real. ECoG's pretty good, assuming you do subdural (still smearing over a ~cubic cm, but better than EEG).

@yacineMTB How old? The whole "free time" thing is coming back for me now that Tiny is 15 months (started around a ~year).

@exolorian Depending on how deep you go into AP-specific features, GIMP has come a long way. You'll have to relearn your muscle memory, but it's like at 90% feature parity for the stuff that matters (layers, blending, tools, etc). Inkscape is a pretty solid replacement for Illustrator too.

@terrorproforma @CooperZurad Yeah, and normally I'm not the "organize all the things" kinda guy, but gridfinity is life changing. Lemme know if you need the models!

Which side of the contour are we machining? The outside, or the... outside?

Oh no. Oh nonononono. OnShape you didn't... You know I love you, but you... you launched CAM Studio with that abomination of a UI without updating it?! WHY?!?!?!

@GoddenThomas Sure, but I mean... contour selection is view matrix dependent?!

@rocomo_robotics From a robotics perspective: West Coast is software, East Coast is hardware (broadly speaking, of course!)

@BillyZelsnack So far definitely possible by hand! It's a little touchy at the moment since I don't have the backing carrier or stator clamped to keep everything aligned, but FWIW it's pretty much the same as backdriving the previous non-hollow-shaft actuator that used a 6:1 planetary.

@CooperZurad Gah, been a busy weekend with family in town. Sure, it's all public! Aside from the vitamins, the only custom piece is the rotor that I ended up buying a few dozen of off-the-shelf and mod in-house. The CAM I do in Fusion, so let me know if you want that.

Not gonna lie, kinda digging this 3d mouse thing. When I sit down at a different workstation that doesn't have it, I find my left hand gravitating towards where it should be. Now if only their ancient, unsupported Linux driver was less than 11 years old... 😭

Aha, yup, that's the way to go for ease for sure! Will have to try that... Last time I tried I was using a sulfur based spray mold release from SmoothOn. Worked pretty well, but was really hard to tell if you coated the entire part or not since the spray residue was perfectly clear.
