Appreciate the hustle but your perspective ignores the national security implications of knitting - a critical manufacturing industry in secular decline in the U.S. / West and in desperate need of reinvigorating/re-shoring against foreign “dumping”. Not just sweaters but also components for healthcare, aerospace and defense - mission critical elements for our military rely on knitting - carbon fiber, heat shields, missile nozzles, anti-frag curtains, parachutes, “smart” uniforms…long list. Knitting is a manufacturing process the same way as machining or injection molding, only the technological challenges are harder and the tech tools much more limited. If anything, we should increase this budget for American security.
