Thank you @gcouros for empowering us to develop an innovative mindset!! Iβm going to be like you when I grow up! π₯π₯π₯
βCreation without meaningful consumption is the equivalent of playing the air guitar: you might know the motions, but you donβt know how to actually play.β John Medina Collaboration is so crucial to learning, but do we have time to dive into our own thinking? Do we prioritize time to consume, connect, and create content so we can develop a better understanding of ideas? Having time in isolation to process can often make your contributions to others more beneficial. I thought about these things after I took some time to write and process the wonderful presentation of Dr.Brian Dinkins (@drbdinkins) at the #InnovativeSchoolsSummit in Chicago. There were so many takeaways, including aligning learning and values into school, that I wanted some time to write and think about the takeaways from the session. Too often, we move from session to session without time to process. What do we lose in learning when we donβt have time to struggle and process information? Is this also true in school settings where students often move from subject to subject? Time to process, create, and reflect on your own can truly improve what we can contribute when collaborating with others. Thanks to Dr. Brian Dinkins for a dynamic and thought-provoking session!
