This is what happens when you see charts/graphs as *pictures* & not you know... visualisations communicating information.
@BBCNews
Anonymity is vital for political & corporate dissent. It's also vital for the LGBT+ community who may be unable or unwilling to disclose their true identity.
Additionally not everyone has an ID of this sort, & this risks setting up two-tier access to social media.
@Telegraph
Torture motivated by religion is still torture.
Instead of listening to clerics whom have zero experience of transgender health & experience, you should be listening to trans health experts & the lived experiences of trans people.
@BBCNews
He's trying to *sell a program*.
All these techbro millionaires are the same, they paradrop in & think they're 'disrupting' a stale industry, completely ignore actual scientists, & then claim to have made 'breakthroughs' when they've done nothing of the sort.
@BBCNews
Really? "some drag queens"?
Less dismissive alternatives:
-The actual names of the drag groups (i.e. United Kingdolls/Frock Destroyers)
- 'a drag act'/'one of two drag acts'
No need for such blatant prejudice.

I mean, she's not the one campaigning, he is.
I don't really care what prime ministerial candidate's spouses get up to so long as it's not corrupt leveraging of government contracts/schemes nor influencing government policy.
To be honest I think they should have a weekly houseplant segment - by far the majority of people in the UK live in urban areas & many of those won't have gardens

A moment of appreciation for Kieran who basically played an undercover faithful & gave the remaining faithfuls just enough to suspect Wilf.

Why can't they vaccinate *everyone* who wants it (prioritising the elderly & most vulnerable of course) much like they do with the flu vaccine?
Why isn't this an option?

I think.
There were no colour photos in 1800... the concept having been invented in 1855 by Maxwell (of electromag fame) the first being taken in the 1860s & only becoming mainstream from late 1890s.
Not to mention how you'd even go about calculating this.
@Botanygeek
Also by saying that you'd be suggesting that POC are fundamentally different people with fundamentally different interests, which is nonsense.
If there's a distinct lack of POC in any domain it's because there are barriers to entry &/or barriers to staying.
@AdamBienkov
Just because people were in care homes that didn't mean that they were expendable or acceptable collateral damage. Many would have had a good number of years left if only they'd been protected.
Also not everyone in a care home is at the end stage of their life either.
@Botanygeek
Ah yes, alkaline limes, that'll be why they taste sour... just like a f***ing lemon ๐
I do wish people would engage their brain for like 2 seconds.
@GraphCrimes
Saying hate speech is falling when you don't do anything about it just means people have stopped reporting it because they know nothing will get done. Or they've left the platform.
@Telegraph
We put too much emphasis on parents knowing what is best.
The parents of LGBT+ kids are not automatic experts when their child comes out.
Many parents have no idea of the intense psychological damage they do to their own children *thinking* they're doing the right thing.

We need to normalise staying at home if you have a contagious respiratory disease - *irrespective* of what it is.
How many *more* hours are lost because that one martyr comes in, but gives it to N people in the workplace? Not everyone is affected equally.
It's not dedication.
Disappointing.
Even if you personally don't need to see it (because you've reached a point in life when you're comfortable with your sexuality, & have capitulated to the status quo?) there are plenty of people that do.
@BBCNews
The level of selfishness to put people lives at risk just to have a party, & then thinking she could just make an apology after being caught out & cough up some money to make it go away.
She might have been able to use the 'error of judgement' excuse in March, but not now.
@HartlandJoseph
People still have this mentality that you can somehow make kids LGBTQ+ by exposure to the concept.
LGBTQ+ kids exist.
They exist independently of any interaction with elder LGBTQ+ people.
I know this because I was one. I had no LGBTQ+ adults in my life as a child. Still gay.๐คทโโ๏ธ
@BBCNews
Because what we all need is yet another music (lack of) talent show?
And in a age where the social media spotlight has warped young people's body image?
I hope this show bombs like it deserves.
@AdamBienkov
I expected her to be awful (because Tory) but the potential forcing of children to go hungry based on nothing more than an ideological viewpoint sounds like a real vote-winner to me!
@JoshLukeDavis
If they don't want to see it then move to the city ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Hating on wolves for doing what comes naturally is just weird.
Deer is frequently on the menu for wolves, if this family's garden wasn't encroaching on *their* range then they wouldn't have to see it.
Subomi's little monologue here hits hard. My best friend in secondary school was gay. I was gay. We each didn't know about the other because of fear.

Next year is no use for right now/the coming winter. Either their jabs should be made available near enough immediately OR the government should widen the NHS booster programme to everyone who wants a jab.
Millennials & younger (maybe Gen X too) haven't been jabbed for ~2 years.
@AdamBienkov
@wethinkpolling
Frankly I wouldn't buy any apology anyway, he won't be remotely sincere about it.
He doesn't care about the plight of trans people, he's made that abundantly obvious, & won't suddenly have started caring from last week to this.
@theAliceRoberts
For a group so enamoured with the free market they don't seem to understand how it works - the more you push people to private healthcare the more expensive that gets. So far from being a Tory panacea most people would just end up going without.
Subtle ethnic cleansing.
@Independent
What on earth would motivate an ex-teacher to return to what is now a high-risk environment, with continued menial pay?
Surely it's not the responsibility of ex-teachers to plug the COVID staff shortages brought on by the terrible mismanagement of the pandemic by the government?
@PaulBrandITV
So it'll be a fine, that rich people can then just pay for their children to avoid doing it but that poor people won't be able to avoid? Okay, got it.
@BBCBreaking
For a party that prides itself on traditional moral values, the Tories seem to have such low moral fibre that they think nothing of extracting billions from UK taxpayers in a time of extreme crisis only to squander it on a (probably wealthy) fashion designer or on their mates.
@Ofcom
"we have considered whether our relationship with Stonewall poses a conflict or risk of perceived bias"
You can't be 'unbiased' in defence of people's rights. Yes it's a clichรฉ but not an untrue one: you're either with us or against us; & it's clear what option Ofcom has chosen.
@EmmaKennedy
Leave always wanted to have it's cake (EU perks) & eat it (jettison EU responsibilities). The EU was never going to allow that. Leave was never going to compromise for fear of losing 'face'. So Leave was only ever going to be left with no deal.
Remainers knew this would happen.
@BBCNews
[...]she had run out of medication she needed for a mental health issue[...] "I only took enough for a seven-day holiday, but now I don't have any,"
Not very bright for a student nurse, is she? She clearly went on holiday without anticipating that she might get Covid. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
At no point in this article does James Forsyth mention that Rishi Sunak is his best friend or that he was best man at his wedding.
Itโs less conflict of interest and more all-out-war of interests.
@BBCNews
"I'm not anti-vaccine, I'm just in limbo,"
Just how long do you think that's going to wash for?
Want the treatment? Get the jab. It's not complicated.
The BBC should know better than to pander to people whinging about self-made problems.
@Botanygeek
It's like they don't want to admit that the reason they have low Covid rates is that they're actually doing the things that work, like lockdown & rapid test & trace.
Couldn't possibly be that, must be the kimchi!
@xruiztru
For those saying it's a Turkish word... so what?
The Greeks call (sweet) oranges "portokรกli"; that does not mean Portugal 'invented' the orange.
Etymology does not mean invention. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

Utterly mad that we're opening a new coal mine to use the coal in an industry that is completely uncompetitive anyway (UK steel).
Not to mention the climate impact this will have.
Why on earth is this being given the go-ahead?
@Telegraph
If you truly want what is best for your children then you should worry less about their supposed immortal soul & worry a heck of a lot more about the ongoing hell they're experiencing in *this* life potentially at your hands.
@Kit_Yates_Maths
Those most likely to be affected by long-covid lie well within the under 50s age bracket this is short-sighted *economic* thinking.
I would gladly have another booster but I'm not eligible, nor can I purchase one (& for some affordability would be an issue).
@dgurdasani1
According to New Scientist:
Nearly everyone in Iran has been infected by SARS-CoV-2 at some point during the pandemic, some catching it more than once, but Iran still hasnโt achieved herd immunity. Instead, it is seeing a punishing new wave of deaths driven by the delta variant.
@BBCNews
So anyone with needs has to suffer the consequences of other people? Not everyone has a diagnosed condition (to get a medical pass), & you can't always plan ahead for when the need will arise.
Bad decision.
@BBCNews
Slamming a company for doing what companies do (make profit) is utterly pointless. If you think they should be closed, then you should be slamming government for not declaring it nonessential.
