It's unsustainable. But if you have a car and there was supporting infrastructure (big roads and free readily available parking spots) it can be nice. Trust me I lived that life, and lived in a modern urban area with the 15 minute walk planning sort of thing

Driving a car is inherently expensive and is subsidised heavily. I agree that for certain groups driving should be accessible, but for almost everyone else we're better off walking/biking/bussing. Makes for prettier and healthier cities and people imo
