Nature has fractals. Cauliflower or broccoli are fractal patterns -- the small parts greatly resemble the whole. Our psyches are the same - the small events in childhood create patterns and we replay or re-experience the same patterns in our bigger adult lives.
Want to learn to use your emotional info as data? Here are some strategies:
1) Change your opinion of your feelings.
2) Develop habits to notice what they are.
3) Dig deeper. What else is going on?
4) Feel + name them.
5) Observe + understand before you act on them.

We make decisions based on predicted feelings. Our decisions arise from the outcomes we've seen before, creating expectations of what's going to happen because of past experience.

Your book is mind boggling … now it all makes sense … lockdown ruse, PCR manipulation, what is counted as a Covid death. I lived in NYC and was all-in on measures until I was persuaded not to get vaxx by a doctor! Then … the blinders started to fall. 🙏
How and why what we do: 🧵... Seems like we think (analyze) and then we do (choose). We actually feel first (middle and last). The feelings provide both context and summarize our analyses.

Neuroscientists have known this for 20 years yet traders still say "take the emotion out of it" and "control your emotion". It's CONTROL THE ACTION by analyzing and understanding the various feelings and emotions (degrees of intensity of visceral intelligence).
I hear some people are still saying things like “take the emotion out of trading.” This is a mental mirage. Can’t be done and If it could, the one doing it wouldn’t be able to decide a single thing.

The human brain is a prediction machine. You can't stop it from predicting. In fact, it's predicting future emotions as proxies for future safety. Resolve to get conscious of what's unconscious...and find yourself better able to chose wisely in all realms.
For anyone interested and on FB, I'm going to do a third teach-in on GME at 5:15 ET. There is so much disinformation out there - regular folks are going to once again be the losers here. I will take your questions.
If u want to have a week of better trading or more effective decisions, find the predictions u r subconsciously making about how the outcomes will feel. Next, recognize when u r thinking of 'glory' or embarrassment and ask how much your personal ego should influence the choice?
Did you know that if you are tired, it's likely you will misperceive risk? A thing (trade or whatever) will seem like less of a risk if you are fatigued. One of many ways that there is actually such a thing as psychological risk management - despite what some people say.
Generally, most of us focus on how to improve our thought process but this is looking left when the traffic is coming right. The true secret to authentic, durable success in trading, sports and life is improving your feeling process.
#FridayFeeling
It doesn't matter what decision you r trying to make. Your subconscious is predicting a future emotion reflecting your expectation of your future bodily safety. Worried, anxious, confident, happy - all r predictions abt safety. U can't escape this so learn to use it.
#TuesdayTip
Whenever you find yourself aggravated or agitated, instead of telling yourself to calm down, ask “what about this is /really/ bothering me?” The answer will be an expectation of the implications of whatever the situation is. Often when we find the real prediction, we calm down.
So here's the thing about changing our patterns, given that the brain is predicting based on past experience, the trick is to create new past experiences to draw on. Deliberate practice is about this but to work it has to be specifically emotional. This is the

“Harvard research notes: At the country-level, there appears to be no discernable relationship between percentage of population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases in the last 7 days. In fact, the trend line suggests a marginally positive association.”
If u trade, here's list of feelings u can b on lookout for. FOMO, fear of future regret, fear of being wrong, criticized, failing, personal disaster. Shine sunshine on these subconscious motivators. When u do, u find they lose their power to corrupt your trading judgment.
How do risk-takers deal with their instincts? Can they trust them? We've launched the Intuition Brain Game to help you do just that: recognize your subconscious voice, hone your intuition and form better high-stakes convictions - quickly. Play it today!
If you want to get better at managing yourself, figure out what future emotion u are expecting with every decision. Don’t run from knowing this.

You wouldn't believe how many people stick with positions out of fear of embarrassment if they get out and it then works - a particularly powerful form of "fear of future regret."
Stops in trading should be where your prediction is clearly wrong. It might be price and it might be time but know that first and if it happens, exit despite the fears of what will happen next. I know it’s easier said than done, but if u remove your self-narrative it gets easier.
A simple thing to remember in the realm of trading+investing psychology is that u decide based on your confidence, conviction (or impulsive fears.) It seems like u decide on the data. U don't. Analyze your feelings about the data and u have an edge.
What many fail to see is if speech is controlled in any way then someone gets to decide what is ok and what is not. That someone is going to want to eliminate speech on items they disagree with.

The thing that always mystifies me about any of this kind of thing is why do people impose their judgment on others? Why don't we assume that is God's job? Why do some /have/ to impose their beliefs on others? Seriously...
Our brain is predicting based on past experience. Therefore, the trick is to create new past experiences to draw from. But how do we do that?

Remember, you know yourself better than anyone else out there. So what if someone doesn't think you can do something or criticizes you. You know your own truth, capacity and intent.
You know that voice in your head, the one that gives you a hard time? Instead of trying to overpower it, try to understand where it came from, whose voice it really is, what early experiences gave it a voice to begin with. This is the martial art of effective self-dealing.

In a way, learning to leverage true “gut feeling” is the secret to everything. Novices use linear, explicit steps. The more of an expert we r on anything, the more the knowledge gets pushed into body. Visceral intelligence, fuzzy trace theory, intuition … an edge to cultivate.
If a trade makes you mad or vengeful, find the feeling beneath the obvious one and the one beneath that. At some point, u will find the expectation - i.e. future failure - and it won't be pretty. Once exposed tho, that emotion has less ability to compel u to do stupid stuff.
Why do so many of us have to be so judgmental? I mean really, what does it get us to be judging the value or import of so many things that have no bearing on our own lives?
Our psyches are the same fractal patterns of perception in different scales of life. Your past experiences have shaped you and your behaviors + beliefs reflect this.

The human brain is always predicting what comes next based on what happened in the past…all of this masquerades as a bunch of other things but if you really want to improve, accept this.
The way to "rewire" your brain to expect more success is to set up small events in which you prevail. You need the past experience to predict the successful future. Always.
If u want to understand the bottom-line reason that trading is SO mentally demanding it's that your brain's job is to keep u safe - physically, socially + psychologically. It's going to create feelings focused on /that/ yet u need to trade on yr feelings abt the market.
Periodically, I get a stark reminder that some people out there think I’m just the crazy woman who sued Billions. I then remind myself that they neither know me nor do they know the evidence.

I understand quite a bit about human motivations. What is still a mystery to me is why so many of us expect others to live by our values? What makes us think we should try to force our own personal beliefs onto other people - the vast majority of whom have no bearing on r lives?
